    Tunes from repository, few questions.

How do i go about flashing a file from the repository to a vehicle? which vin do i apply to flash it? the vin from the actual vehicle or the one from the repository. Do i just download from the rep, then flash it to the vehicle?

It won't change the VIN even with a write entire. Be very careful using a file from the repo. If you see one you think you can use, do a compare and change your own calibration to match.

Don't flash tunes from repository, they cost you 2 credits each.
If you want to try one of them in your car (which I wouldn't) is better to copy all parameters from the tune you downloaded to your own stock tune. This way you don't mix operating systems and don't risk damaging your PCM. It won't cost you credits this way

I found a stock file i wanted to use for a 2010 2500 hd. same OS and same setup. 4wd 6.0 motor same trans. His trans went out and we put a remaned unit in. The valvebody programming didnt match and i want to flash a stock TCM program to it. We ended up having the dealer do the flash. It was only $55 from them.

Edit: thanks for the input though. Yall are very helpful.
