Is live tuning available for the GEN 4 custom OS?
If so where can i find some information on how to activate / edit the live tables in the scanner?
Thanks

Just say no to bull s***.

Bummer.
Hope they develop that feature in the next stable release. Would make things a lot easier!
We currently have no plans to add RTT for the newer pcm's.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

If we didn't offer custom operating systems for them then custom operating systems would be the best additions ever...RTT & Autotune are additions to an addition. At this time I just don't see gen 4 RTT ever happening as the R&D work behind the scenes is huge.

I'd much rather see the available engineering hours go into continuing to develop the product for more models, OSs, makes, scanner functions and so on. If there were unlimited resources, then sure it'd be nice, but otherwise IMO its gotta be a low priority.
For what it's worth, on Gen3s that have it and I use the enhanced OS on all the cars I tune and I never use the RTT. With the flash times so fast and some of the intricacies and speed of RTT, I simply prefer to concentrate on logging quality data and applying those changes incrementally.
I would really like to see enhanced bi-directional controls for the Gen4 PCMs though as I find this particularly useful as it's how I use "RTT" particularly on the dyno.
I suppose if it wasn't much work, you would have done it. I thought that most of the ground work would have been laid from the Gen3 RTT.
Maybe we could get some API's and put the community to work on some functionality.

That's a little bit of a stretch, I would say a more fair comparison would be trying to use a PC peripheral with a mac, but with PC drivers. The key here, in my mind, is the need for Gen 4 PCM drivers.
The ECM's are the same, in that they contain bits of data in memory and can transmit and receive said data. We already know what the bits are, where they are located, and how to read and write them. The only difference between the gen3 and gen4 ecms, from a software stand point, is the communication protocol. (ie the drivers)
So instead of HPTuners calling
err = writeGen3Bit(byteToWrite, bitLocation)
they would call
err = writeGen4Bit(byteToWrite, bitLocation)
I am in no way saying this should be simple. I am guessing that writing on the fly isn't a native function in the GM ECM's, and that is why the need for custom (hacked) OS's?

Well, yes. Consider HPTuners as a Mechanic. The mechanic can rotate tires, change oil, plugs, drive, and do basic stuff with both. The mechanic just needs some training and some new tools to work on the Corvette, but all the fundamentals are the same.
Which they already have plotted out, just need to change them on the fly.

Hey bill
Can we expect the commanded afr / spark bi directional controls to work for the gen 4 any time soon?
I can't remember if commanded afr can be controlled on them but I know the spark control works on them, I believe its either the add or subtract timing one is the one used on gen 4's, absolute cannot be added as gm changed the commands to no longer include this.

commanded afr controls have been removed from the pcm code.
I count sheep in hex...
No more comments AndyMac ?
Seems as though you have ran headlong into the realization that the Gen III and Gen IV controllers are indeed very different - something those of us who have actually worked with these controllers over the years were already aware.
