    2 bar MAP Supercharged LS3

    Hi All,

    Vehicle C6, LS3, Eforce 599, A6

Been tuning the car for a while now and have it tuned pretty good. I've read a lot about the 2bar MAP and with me being force induced I'm exceeding 1.36 g/cyl on the spark table, actually value is approx 1.52, I'm pulling additional timing to reduce the knock and I know if these were expanded I could set these up better, so here is my questions:

    1. I have Eforce supercharger installed with its own upgraded from stock MAP, will this suffice
    2. After the upgrade, will existing tune have to be modified i.e. tables being empty and have to be populated with data before I can run (plug and play)
    3. Can I still compare with other files that are not 2bar configured
    4. What are the downsides

Sorry if these seem dumb but I dont want to mess the ECU's and I havent found info from trolling around

    Cheerz in advance

    Steve

You will have to defanatly pull timing for the superchager from about 2000 onwards. And yes you will need to upgrade to a 2 bar operating system to tune this setup in boost. To understand how to tune boost and the functions of a map sensor, If you havent already have a look at Greg Banish books from Amazon books online. They helped me alot about tunning boost. IDRIVEAG8GT tunes alot of superchaged cars in this forum. He might be able to help you if you have a chat to him or look at his posts. When I tune boost I change straight to 2bar/2.5bar system, a stock system isnt that user friendly in boost like you are finding. When you upgrade you get alot more functions in boost fueling and trans fuel funtions.

1, you don't need a custom OS to run/tune 2 or 2.5 bar. The E38 PCM can be tuned up to 2.5 bar without it.

2, you don't really want to scale your tune just to try and make it fit the spark tables. Your trans won't like that.

Thats what i was looking for, so inputted the 2bar MAP and seems still to be running fine, seen the info on Using the EQ_VE file to tune for WOT (from Gregg Banish), he did say not to use that method for partial trottle due to the voltage offset.

    It all about learning.

    Thanks

Use your MAF man. These things are immensely capable of handling huge amounts of airflow.

Yep. I use the MAF on my TT setup. Made over 1000whp with room to keep going.

I have the MAF frequency table set up pretty good with LTFT and WOT within 2%

Trying to use the Bluecat EQ_VE3 it seems that:

    1. Since moving to 2 Bar, the speed density Tab is no longer there, so the tables that the app wants to reference it cannot, I know that they were there before the enhancement.

    2. I see the new tables that are referenced here: http://www.hptuners.com/help/index.h...ters_gm_os.htm
"2.5 Bar MAP - Speed Density (E38 ECM - LS2 and other engines)"

To have the histogram work , I'm supposed to do the following:

(This step for 2bar and 3bar enhancement only) Open VCM Scanner and connect to the vehicle. Open the Table display (Scan -> Table Display). Right-click the "Manifold Air Pressure (SAE)" PID and select "Delete". This removes the existing 1 bar PID from the table, if you don't do this the histogram will not function correctly.
(This step for 2bar and 3bar enhancement only) Right-click again on the table display cell and select "Insert", go to the Engine -> Airflow section and choose either the "Manifold Air Pressure - 2 bar" or "Manifold Air Pressure - 3 bar" PID, double-click to insert it into the table.
(This step for 2bar and 3bar enhancement only) Save the new scanner configuration using File -> Save Config.
You are now ready to tune using your new enhanced PCM.

Well, The current "Manifold Air Pressure (SAE)" shows the correct value in kPa, when I delete the one above and go to add the one listed "Manifold Air Pressure - 2 bar" or "Manifold Air Pressure - 3 bar" they are not there, the current one installed is a Bosche which came part of the Eforce kit and is reading fine, I've had it to 152 kPa (7.5 psi boost).

When searching for the "Manifold Air Pressure - 2 bar" or "Manifold Air Pressure - 3 bar" the only place I see in resemblance is 1 BAR MAP - GM and 2 BAR MAP - GM listed under the Aux Inputs (AUX 20020 and AUX 20021)

I have noticed that SENS.30 Manifold Absolute pressure when added to the table, the reading is incorrect, showing 120-140kPa at idle reducing when running, in boost the value goes past 450kPa which is way too high, the "Manifold Air Pressure (SAE)" readings are ranging between 16kPa and 152 kPa

When I add the histogram in the link above (VE Boost - Wideband O2) the Row & Col Axis has <unsupported table> in the primary.

I guess what I'm looking for is to have the Bluecat VE table working to set up these new tables that are currently 0 out

    Any help would be great

You shouldn't need to use the Bluecat tool now, you should have an actual VE table that needs populated.

Ok, is there a guide somewhere for that? Will this be somewhat like tuning a c5 VE tables?

I guess i need to setup the histogram setup correctly for VE

Will this guide work for me?
