    GMPP tune for GXP Solstice

I'm a noob so bare with me...

Is it really this simple to get the GMPP tune for my Solstice?

I'm thinking buy the 3 bar GM sensors, buy $100 credits and use the GMPP tune that is in the repository.

    Is it just that easy?

    Or am I missing something.

Do I get all the benifits of the GMPP tune, like NLS or is it just things HPT has access too?

I hear the GMPP tune + HPT tweaks later is the way to go.

The tune in the repository matches my year make model and trans.
Says it's the stock GMPP tune...

Factory file with 3 bar sensor recalibration is the way to go.
you can open and read a file from the repository and copy values to try at your own risk and that doesn't cost credits. It's called a file compare.

so you saying to do it properly..

I'd need $200 one to license the tune and the other to license my car?

No just keep the factory tune and do a map recalibration for the 3-bar map sensors. So only $100 in credits for the car and of course the cost of the 3 bar map sensors

But I wouldn't be able to get the no lift shift...

Eh... No big deal I guess.

So just do a file compare and copy & paste on evey chart I can find a difference on.

    Cool. Thanks guys!

The nice thing with the GMPP tune is it also turns off the "learn down" for the computer. So if you add things it won't learn back down to 260ft/lbs of torque and 260hp. If you are worried about a warranty, the GMPP is VIN specific from what I understand. In order to "download" the GMPP tune at the dealer for your car, they need your VIN# and the serial # that comes with the kit. So therefore if you download it here, and you have warranty issues, and they really look at your car, it won't be covered unless you do it at the dealer level.

Dealership will never see my car.

Thats another thing. The learn down thing.
Copying the maf tables and such wont change the learn down. It will still be there?

There is way less turbo nanny built into the stock tune than the GMPP ones in tables we cannot see or change. You will be much happier using your own base file with the 3 bar sensor data & tuned accordingly. I've ran it both ways in my own LNF and trust us when we say the stock base file is a better mix.

Learn down is on an untuned stock LNF file as it has a given torque target. Raise the target, no more learn down. The sensor data and kPa ranges have been posted a few tmes by myself and others already, please search them out if you decide to go that route.

You can run 'out of control' on the 2.5 bar stock sensors above 22 psi if you wish, but most prefer to be inside the control range of the MAP sensors.

I would do what Tom is suggesting above. The only thing you won't have after copying things over is the NLS.

And in all honesty, NLS creates a lot of unnecessary stress. I hardly ever do it in my own car.
