    PCM change

I think I understand this but just want to confirm.

If I change the PCM in a car then it has to be re-licensed because the PCM serial number is what is licensed with HPT and not the VIN correct? So even of the dealer changes the VIN to match car, the serial still won't match the previous licensed HPT and needs re-licensed?

    Thanks

    Interested on this too.
    I have a customer with a 2001 GMC Sierra 5.3
Computer went bad and, wanted to know if I could flash a blank computer with HP tuners so that he can retain the VIN and credits?

I just swapped out the PCM. Had to re-license the new PCM because the serial number is different. Downloaded tune from new PCM. Licensed it, did a compare, copied over differences and then a write calibration. All done. 2 credits.
