    Simple question....

    How can I tell in the HPT scanner if the PCM is in open loop?

    Your STFT's/LTFT's should stay at zero once reset iirc.

    That's what I was thinking but they're still varying. For the E38 is there anything other than disabling the MAF and setting the LTFT learning ECT values high needed to force open loop?

    Yea, set the CLOSED LOOP ENABLE temp to max. Lol.

    Also O2 readiness.



    Or just click Off for Closed Loop in the scanner.

    That did the trick, thanks a bunch. Now I need to figure out the best way to smooth out the VE tables after tuning w/o screwing up the results.
