    5th Gen Camaro on E85

had a guy today with a relatively stock camaro want an e85 tune.

he has stock injectors and pump, everything tuned in nicely as far as airflow tables.

the duty cycle on the injectors went to 85 up top
fuel pressure dropped to 51 up top

does this guy need a ZL1 pump to compensate or is this not a big deal? he says he only wants to run it at the strip, daily drive still on 93....

I run 60% E (2:1 E85 & 93) with an intake and tune, seeing ~80% IDC with .83 PE and figured that's as far as I was going to go. If he is at 51 psi, I think that's it for the tank pump. Haven't logged mine yet though, gotta see if I can. Hi flow cats soon so I figure it'll raise IDC some more with increased airflow in & out.

Coin toss, it's his call I guess. What PE are you running? Seems the E likes it a bit fatter on mine.

Tuned it to 1.2 PE but can adjust now that it's in line....

E10 I run 1.14 smoothed to 1.18 at 4500 and back to 1.14 up top.

I think you will find more power a bit richer on E blends than E10, ymmv. Leaner than .83, KR increases ~5400 rpm than tapers off and 60-100 3rd gear times don't improve any on mine.

Seems like ~5400 rpm is the critical KR spot for me. Let us know how it works out.

I'd like to go E85 for the convenience, but not going to go static on the injectors to do it. Haven't really seen any improvement over E47 (1:1) performance wise. 6.0x sec 60-100 in a third gear pull from 50 is the best I've seen in 80* IAT's. No dyno close to me to play.

I was able to get 5 more degrees of timing vs E10, which seems about right.... Have you seen more? With my 01 Z06 (built 408) on C12 I could run up to 10 more degrees of timing, not sure if that was past MBT, though.

Around 5400 on E10 the 5th Gen would pull with no audible ping at 20-21, E85 is at 25-26 and up to 30 by 6500.

The high octane stock tables on mine are up to 27* total at 6k already so I had a fair amount of KR on 93 with stock PE & advance. (pig rich stock) The E47 killed 5* KR and as I leaned it out past .84 it'll come back depending on IAT's. I 'think' I was around 24* at 5400 when it starts leaner than .83 but I don't have a log here to look at.

Never hear any knock ever, just logging the KR.

I'll have to see if I can log the rail pressure. I couldn't on my '02 LS1 so I never tried this one.

Very good to know, adding it to the table when I get a chance.

Just sport back resonators, replaced stock resonators.
