    any advantage to stft only?

My car is fairly well tuned, so now I'm just tweaking/playing/learning.
I've read where some guys will turn of ltft during the tuning process and I understand why.
But I've also read where some will leave the car setup with the ltft turned off after they're finished tuning. What's the advantage of doing this, if there is one?

For a more track suited car I run STFT only, typically because they have no cats and no intake restriction and the fuel trims start getting harder to read and tune (For me anyways.) not to mention, positive LTFT's carry over into PE and multiply total fuel by that percentage thus making everything richer at WOT.

Other people have different reasons, but on a street car I ALWAYS re-enable the LTFT's after I finish tuning because it helps the engine cope with changes in weather and altitude.

If you have trouble with false trimming, temporary is better
than persistent. If you can't trust the LTFTs then let the
STFTs clean it up and tolerate the lag in doing so. But you
might want to figure out why instead.

Generally speaking I tune the stft's into -+ 2-3 range, then I enable ltft and after a long run with a set of conditions make one change.

I find despite the pe downside it helps the car run much better and helps control the trims in general.
