Are timing tables and torque disable similar on 2007 and 2011 5.3L

I just got my Hp tuner last week. I have been looking around a lot to see what I can do to squeeze some power out of it and get rid of that soggy bottom end. I have Cat delete, Corsa exhaust and GMPP Intake. Also have 22 inch escalade wheels which doesnt help with the horrible launch this truck has. I havn't had good luck finding any 2007 NBS tunes. I have seen a lot of 2010,11 and 12 tunes and advice, and just wondering if i should be able to do the same thing (same timing changes and torque disable settings)
I already disabled my cat codes and set my tire size. Just have to become more familliar with the tuner.

Im a GM Mastertech so I have a good understanding of engine performance, fuel trims, Kr, Ect.
I have tuned my 97 gtp a few years back with DHP tuner but it was way easier than this truck. Im just going to read thouroughly and doublecheck my changes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have found Russ' timing table to be great in part throttle, but as I start to get going it gets soggy and seems like maybe too much timing too early. Being that these trucks are designed to make more torque down low due to the intake manifold, I'm thinking maybe the timing down low doesn't need so much to have such an effect. I may be incredibly wrong though...issue with tuning timing is without a dyno you can't *really* tell what is "best" for your daily driving needs.

I'm working on a new tune for my truck using the stock 2011 mixed with a 2008 timing table as a base. I'll post it up when I'm happy with it.

    Here is my tune

Here is my stock file first with Catalytic converter codes removed and tire size adjusted.
The second one labeled first tune is what I have attempted to do reading other posts. I have set my PE to 1.8,and enrichment rate to 1, Set electronic throttle opening rates to 100%, Set Torque management ETC limits to 100% and left row 0 alone. I couldnt figure out how to mas all allowed torque tables under TM ??

Its hard for me to figure out how to do everything though, mostly because I dont know what tables to max out for torque disable and how to adjust the timing. I will be running 93 octane for the timing advances, and be scanning for kr. What amount of Kr is acceptable. On my grand prix We didnt want any because it was boosted and the pistons shattered very easily. Thanks Again Guys.

I tried to look at Russ"s tune before and It looks like 2007 and 2011 have completely different options when you open up the engine torque management section and transmission torque management section , I am completely confused.

Wasn't sure you had a 2007 or 2011. 2011 has DOD that your does not. Not sure if the 2007 had Flex fuel but if not then the 2011 probably has larger injectors too.

Is your truck a late-enough 2007 that it has 243 heads and the TBSS intake?

Let me load up my current tune I'm working with and you can take some cues from what I have done. I am by no means ever going to call myself a pro, just a hobby I have been doing since 2007.

I have a 2008 so my trans/engine will be exactly the same as yours.

    See attached.

I also have the LY5. This is a "start" tune of mine and I haven't fully tested the HO timing table so make sure you're running 91 octane or higher. Pay attention to in my IAT timing multiplier how I upped the values a little.

The transmission TCC and shift speed tables were all done using Bluecat's spreadsheet.

Please make sure you are not going lean for PE. With the way the stock fueling is though I doubt you will be.

I'm sure someone may criticize my tune and that's fine by me!

Here is what I have done so far. I test drove it with the Tech 2 scanner and noticed 4 to 5 degrees of KR only at top of rpm range. I have attached my tune. Please let me know if you see anything wrong with what I have done. Ill try to log on my way home and post it up later tonight. Part throttle is way better but WOT launch still feels very sluggish. Thanks again.

IMO, the only thing you should utilize from my tune would be the spark tables. Your PE EQ Ratio is fine, but not using a wideband to figure out your WOT air fuel will just leave you guessing.

Under Fuel > Power Enrich >

    Set Delay RPM to 500RPM.

You're probably going to feel sluggish because those wheels. When I had my stock 17" wheels, I could let them rip constantly and do awesome stuff. When I put my 18" Z71 wheels on, I could instantly feel the weight and circumference difference work against me. Gears will help big time with fixing that feeling.

Scan with HPtuners so that you can save the log data and share with us. The best way to understand what your changes are doing is to log and analyze.

i had same problem with my 07' 5.3 avalanche.. Instead of removing spark advance just before and through 4800rpm, I just increased the PE EQ ratio to about 1.22ish from 4500rpm up. That should soak up the retard you are having in power enrich mode. You may have to adjust a little bit or or less. The OEM stock tune commands up to 1.3ish in this rpm range btw.
