HELP: VCM read failed at loc error 4500 checksum???

So ive been an hptuner user for a while now and this is something new. I go to read the vin on my recently purchased car. 2001 pontiac formula v8. and on step 5. "reading entire vcm" - i am getting a red FAIL. with error message - VCM Read failed at loc: error 4500 checksum. what does this mean and how do i fix? i then put my hptuner to my 99 trans am and it reads as normal as always. switch back to formula and ERROR

i also used the shop snap on scanner and it reads the 2001 formula data and codes just fine. im stuck...

    any help is appreciated thanx

    No.
It just means the tune was previously modified and some areas of the memory are corrupted, so VCM Suite is doing it's job not reading the corruped file.

It's easy to fix. Just do a write entire with a stock tune file with same OS as yours and start over tuning.
