    SD tune LS6

How do you convert to an SD tune on an 01 Z06? I know you'll need a 2 bar MAP. Anything else needed and where can I find the 2bar SD OS? Will the 01's PCM support the SD OS? I want to start some small N/A tuning now and later (few months) go boost. I want to make sure I have the same PCM so I don't need to license a third time (I know it would be once for the inital read and once for the new OS) Also gives me time to get familiar with everything on the LS6's PCM.

Start here before you do ANYTHING else...

Okay so back to your question. You don't need to add a physical part (replace stock MAP sensor) to go SD (speed density). Thats for when your working on boosted applications.

Read the below links to understand what you're car has now "MAF" (Mass Air Flow) and what "SD" (Speed Density) really is...

    http://www.pcmforless.com/index.php?...ning&Itemid=56
    http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...ion/index.html

Now click the link below and read this ENTIRE page to understand the difference between HP Tuners Suite custom OS's (operating systems). Remember they aren't free so you'll need to pay for them with additional credits. Now pay close attention to the "1 bar Speed Density Enhanced". This is the only (1) even close to what you're would want and based on your vehicle modification description (none so assume stock Z06?). Thought it is available and called "SPEED DENSITY" this custom operating system is NOT necessary to run speed density on your stock tune but has some added bonuses if you would like to use them. I am uncertain why you would need it.

Honestly you need to skip the custom OS idea given you're trying to tune a stock car. Kinda overkill in my opinion. Especially for someone just learning...

You're next investment after Hp Tuners Suite should be a single wideband 02 sensor.

Then you can follow along to guides like this one below with no issues!

I guess I should have provided more info. Car will be boosted, hence the reason for wanting a 2 bar system. Also, this is not my first round with HTP and SD OS's for boosted apps. I as more or less jut asking if the 01's ECU (manufacture date of 9/00) could in fact be switched over to a 2 bar SD OS or if another years ECU would need swapped in.

convert to SD? Disable the MAF, don't need a custom OS for that.

need 2 bar? need the custom OS for that.

what else needed? IAT sensor is in the MAF so you will need to pull the wires and connect them to an IAT sensor and mount it somewhere reasonable. 2 bar OS is under General Tab.

    01 will support.

Recommend practicing on MAF disabled stock OS then upgrading when needed.
