    cold startup tuning issue, open loop

    i have a thread at ls1 tech. with the two tunes ive messed with and a scan of what my car is doing....real rough idle, surging, rich, and sometimes have to give it gas to keep it going.

    now...im no expert tuner by any means...but i guess i've been able to make it run...i know some people here can help me out...ill give the full run down of mods. and i know someone can help me out. on startup it stays in open loop..and doenst like to run, when it goes into closed loop it will run fine. also. in open loop it idles at 12.5:1 afr...

    98 ws6
    04 crate motor
    tsp 243's
    pat g cam 231/239 .617/.623 113+3
    fast 92, bored to 95mm, 95mm TB
    ford green top 42s, 255 walbro, and hotwire kit
    k&n fipk with stock maf (have 100mm waiting to go on with lid)
    udp
    1 3/4 LT headers, ory, slp LM1 exhaust
    6 speed with monster stage 3 clutch
    mwc 9 inch with 3.89s

    also-in wesern nebraska, 4500 elevation if it matters


    that should be the basic run down of mods. any questions or comments feel free to ask. also...dont hate on my tuning abilities...lol!

    First off, your fuel trims pull 10% immediately after start up. That should be your first indication right there. Second, you're not logging your IAC, so no telling where it is, and if it needs to be open more on start up, or if it's even right when warmed up fully.

    Surge is almost always too much fuel. Need to dial in the VE and MAF. Then you need to adjust the OL/EQ table to get the open loop fueling correct.

    ok. ill mess with them. crap, i thought i had the iac in there. ill make sure to watch it closely too.

    i did log iac position, it is in the table display, if that helps any
