    Burst knock disable

When disabling burst knock, say by setting Mult vs ECT to 0 and Mult vs IAT to 0, does this still allow actual knock retard?

I have a built motor low compression that was getting a lot of burst knock where it seemed it shouldnt be so I zero'd out these tables, now I get no knock whatsoever anywhere...

well that's probably because youre not getting any knock. add some timing and see if you can get it to ping. disabling burst knock does not disable your knock sensors.

    post your tune and log.

Or I can just make the knock sensors more sensitive...but thats what i was looking for...if disabling burst knock totally disables the knock sensors.

it makes me think... on a built motor ... would you ever really want to have burst knock enabled? its probably not necessary...but ???

I dont have the tune on me, but the only things i disabled are the exact tables i mentioned in the OP

well, maybe you can add more timing, it all depends on your combination....

i leave burst knock disabled completely, especially during tuning spark...

some re-enable it for various reasons, 10 people will give you 10 opinions.

burst knock isn't actual knock, its knock prediction. the ecm knows when a knock might happen, so it "flinches" and pulls timing.
