H/C/I Runs Funny after plug change

    Hi I have a 00 WS6. Torquer v3 mamofied fast 92/92 ported 243s yank4k etc

The tune is perfect. I went to change the plugs since they are old. Now the car acts kind of funny. Feels like a miss sometimes and other times not. Maybe its in my head i triple checked the wires and plugs etc. Is there any way with HPT to see if there is a missfire? A config or something? Please need help ASAP

Yes, you can see misfires in the scanner.

What kind of plugs and what is the gap? What about the old plugs? You could have cracked a plug too.

I think the stock gap is too big, but I doubt that is your issue.

Open the scanner and log your misfires. If it is one cylinder then I would try to change that plug out with an old one that is good and see if the issue goes away. May be a bad plug.

If not, maybe there was an issue with the old set and the tune compensated for it, making it off now.

the gap was .50 or .60 which is perfect for what i have..... ppl on ls1tech run these all the time. I know the plugs themselves (brand/model) are not the issue. How do i log missfires to isolate the problem? My missfire tables are maxed out.... Whats the easiest way to log for them?

I disagree, that is not perfect. Just because "people run them all the time" does not mean it is right.

Don't max out misfire tables, good reason why not to here...

Put the stock misfire tables back and use the scanner.

You use the only scanner HPT has. You have to add the misfire info in the scanner table.

Even with a cam and stall you should not have misfires.

No, you may get elevated valve train noise but it just means you need to correct the tables. Too many people just disable things. Your cam is relatively small and should not really have issues. I've not had to really increase any misfire values until I get in the 240 duration range.

Though my setup is a little different, it is close to yours and I can say I had a crap load of low/light throttle knock. I took the TR5's out and put in TR6s... all good! No more knock what so ever! (well other than real knock at WOT) Going to the 6s were what my set up needed.

I'm bumping this thread. I have a 231/239 cam and 9.5" converter and it logs misfires like hell. I had to max out the idle misfire table so my converter would even lock. From the info in this thread, it sounds like I shouldn't be scanning any misfires? How would I track down a real misfire. It shows misfires in every cylinder with stock misfire tables. Thanks
