Fuel economy took a nose dive...

Well, got the car on the rollers the other day, got everything just straightened out a bit, tuned the fans, and didn't do a whole lot other than that. She's stock other than a cat-back, and averaged about 14 MPG in the city. Ever since we threw the new program at her, she nose dived to about 10 MPG. Someone had mentioned that the PCM in these things have to "re-teach" themselves, and that it should get better and better.

    Any truth behind this?

10mpg is a c5? ouch! the car does learn to trim itself out, but dont expect to pickup 4mpg for that!

Actually, it has since the time I posted that, driving home for lunch, and being back at the office. We're around 14~ MPG now. Not sure what was going on, but all is well with the Red Dragon, at the moment.

It was the stock bin downloaded straight from the PCM, with only fan changes and a minor idle adjustment. Everything is great now, so no worries!

Was wondering why it was on a dyno to tune fan settings is all?? Guessing you were just checking power on the mostly stock tune?
