Does this tune look right to force openloop?

Trying to dial in the maf and wanted to double check I have set up right to force it into open loop. Drove around several times until the error was all 1.5% or less and then put my final airflow frequency into my normal tune. But at the track my afr still seems off running a slightly lean for some rpm then too rich for the rest. I tuned my truck all myself off of the oringal 5.3 base tune to run my 6.0 so bare with me.

your tune is forced in OPEN lope ,,
disable the LTFT ( usually guys disable it )

its much better to use it Close lope
but if you have your reason ,, you have done it OL ,,, just disable the LTFT and you are done

    good luck

Hmm I thought to dial in MAF you force open loop to force it to run off the maf/ve instead of the narrowbands? I started by tuning the 4.3 in the truck originally way back in 08 and in that there was an actual drop down box in the editor to select force open loop and then just disable dfco and your on your way. Then to tune ve I did the same but disabled the maf also. So how do you tune the maf cal on these newer ls ecu's?

Disabling the O2 sensors is all you need to do.

MAF can be done a few ways. If you do not have a wide band you can use MAF vs STFT with LTFT disabled.

Otherwise if you do have a wideband use MAF vs AFR Error with LTFT disabled.

    Post your config.

Are you sure your wideband is setup correctly for 14.2 stoich?

For PE, you're commanding an AFR of 13.23:1 on the gas scale(14.68 stoich). That's a bit lean, in my opinion. I would go with 1.147, which is 12.8 on gas.

Keep working on the Maf, it should be a nice smooth curve if dialed in correctly.

OK I turned up the ltft ect enable so that they wont enable. How do I go about making sure the 02's are disabled? Or since Im tuning via wb is all I have to do is disable the LTFT and re-enable my closed loop enable parameters?

Yep tune is set for stoich of 14.2 for a cammed engine running e10. I run a innovate lc-1 and set it for 14.2 stoich in the lm programmer along with 0-5v is 10-18afr for my output going to my hptuners. Running the scanner commanded says 14.2 when cruising and switches to 12.8 when in pe so Im sure my tune is set up correctly. Also locked the output voltage across the board to only output the voltage the lm programmer says would be 14.2 and logged that to find what offset I had. Ended up being .2 off so I put that offset into my eio input setup for my wideband and it then corralated perfectly to what the wb was putting out.

Ok, but you do know that 12.8:1 with 14.2 stoich is leaner than 12.8:1 with 14.7 stoich, right?

As Beatdown said, richen up your WOT fueling if you are really running E10. If you're looking at AFR only, shoot for ~12 to 12.3 for E10

Crap you guys are right. It would be directly related to 14.7-12.8 would 14.2-12.3 be ok then? Although Ghost already answered that one then. So I set pe to 1.155 for a ~12.3.

I've never tuned the ve since I was told to run maf only so I set maf to run at anything over 500 rpms. Ve is still set for a stock ly6 would it matter if i tuned it or left it alone? Does the ecu look at the ve table for things like start-up or anything else?

Basically for forcing it to look at the ve table do I just fail the maf and go tune or do I need to disable other things.

Personally, I like using the hybrid MAF/VE system that GM put in place so I tune both the MAF curve and the VE table.

To do so, set MAF fail Hz to 1. Then under Airflow--> Dynamic, set High RPM Disable higher than your redline.

Use Lambda for your desired PE...then it doesn't really matter what stoich is.

Like MikeOD said - Adjust the Stoich AFR, dont chase it with PE ...

Under Fuel/General/Stoich AFR, I use 14.222656 across the board for E10 (its about E08, very accurate for South Florida)

You can go across the board on the table, the only value that most engines (unless they are FlexFuel) use is the value in the 0.00 column.
