    FIC reworked stock injectors

Guys who have these, what have you had to change in your tune to make them work/run better? Was told injector flow rate was all i needed but wondering if there might be some other tweeks that need to be done to get rid of this low rpm surge.

From what i understand, getting injector data is like pulling teeth around here. I had no help/response from anyone asking about it. Maybe greg banish can help out here? Or do we gotta "buy" the dvd for all the data @ $250 a pop? still not really sure. Our next set we buy will come with data or we wont buy them.
    Thanks,

    Dustin

    I have these http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/sh...&productId=238

I called up FIC and asked for the flow rate and they gave them to me with no issues. maybe just call them up. I inserted the new flow rates and thats it. But i did have some surging at cold start but did some idle tuning and all that went away. Are you using open or closed loop tuning?

You do not need to buy any DVD to get injector data. All injector is out there free of charge you just gotta look for it. Although I know some so called good tuners that still cant put the correct injector data in tunes for some reason.

Running CL. LIke I said all the tune appears to be spot on. The only surge/ problem is at that low rpm/throttle. Just wondering if there was something g injector wise I might have mIssed. I was told since these were the reworked stock ones that the FR would have to be the only thing changed.

What are the cam specs? Where is the surging? FWIW, you won't get all of it out. You can't, it's impossible. I can make a bone stock car surge if I get the RPM and load just right.

It's a torquer 2. 232/234 with 112lsa. It's only at 1500-2000 rpm's, 35-45 mph, right at 5-6 tps. I asked way back if this Was normal. (never having anytype of built car or even ridden in one I have no clue what is "normal"). I was told it should not surge at all.

1500-2000 is pretty high, and it should be pretty smooth by then. Most of the surge should be in the 12-1300 rpm range.

Try turning your fuel trims off while driving. Try using the scanner controls to add and remove timing to see what the engine likes.

I did hit disable on the ltft and stft and changed the temp to 285. Problem solved. No surge. Just trying to figure out why it does it only in CL.

Some setups become really sensitive to the rich lean swing of closed loop. My old cammed NA setup never did it, but my TT baby cammed engine surges from closed loop fueling even though I've cut down the proportional values for CL.

Your camshaft has 9* overlap, so it will have a low rpm/load surge. Raise the TCC lock up above the surging speed. No need to have it lock in 3rd gear on a car. I still lock the TCC in 3rd gear on trucks, or a car that tows a trailer.

I may be wrong but I didnt think I have it locked in 2nd or 3rd. I followed that writeup by coolaid, have the 2nd and 3rd to 255mph. I also have the shift lock disabled.

Try this trans tune. Also disabled the COT, that was the reason the AFR went rich at WOT.

Thanks for the tweek on the tranny. As for the COT, dont I need that to keep from burning up my cats?

Russ got a P0751 "1-2 shift solenoid valve performance no 1st-4th gear" What would have caused this? I put my old tune back in and it went away, no clue.

As for injector data on reworked 42lb injectors. Here is what John from FIC sent me. Bunch of good guys there!
