    ls3 throttle body on 09 ls2?

Im helping my buddy put an 09 tbss ls2 into his 86 cutlass. The stock truck style throttle body just barely contacts the hood. After looking at the ls2/ls3 style throttle body they are shorter and would probably fit. Ive searched and read about the newer 09+ brass bladed throttle bodies not working right on 08 and older engines without lots of tuning. Did this change affect the truck motors as well? He would like to run an ls3 throttle body as they are considerably cheaper than the ls2 ones. He does not have an ecm or harness yet, so we are flexible there as well. I appreciate any insight on this.

Just change the ETC Scalar to the same as whatever the throttle body comes from.

With an 09 operating system, an ls2 or ls3 throttle body will work?

Run an E38 ECM, or whatever else floats your boat. An 09 Operating system paired with an LS3 throttle body is perfect. Can't remember what intake the TBSS has, but if it's a truck style go find yourself a FAST or any LS2 intake to gain some more clearance.
