i need some help. this is very frustating

ok i have a 02 avalanche with the 5.3 2 wd drive with traction control.. i needed a new computer cause old one was bad. thats how i got the truck. so i got a computer from a local junkyard from a 02 tahoe. needed to change vin, vats etc,, done all that.. now im getting a tps code cause the tahoe did have traction control. im guessing it was a 4x4.. i have a 5 wire tps compared to the other one which im assuming is the 3 wire one.. i found a 06 truck and downloaded his program and its now asking me for credits again.. like seriously? i already just spent 100 on 2 credits and cant even do anything. the entire purpose of getting the 2 i got was to another program so it would work, how do i go about this without spending another 100? if i knew that was gonna be the case, i would of just went to gm and had them flash it instead of dealing with this now.. some please tell me how do i do this?

    I'm confused.

Is the truck drive by wire, or drive by cable? Did you program the wrong OS? Is that what's going on here? Sounds like it by the difference in TPSs.

Anyways, you'll have to pay to license another tune file, if you have to change it from one to the other. No way around that, unless you send it to someone who has unlimited trucks, and they won't have to pay for licensing, but they will most likely charge you for the service, so you're going to pay something anyways.

This is an example of too little knowledge being a dangerous (and expensive) thing.

Couple of things ... the 2006 truck tune you downloaded is not compatible with your 2002 Avalanche - it uses a different APP, TAC, and TB. Also, the 2002 tune is for use with P01 512 Kb PCMs, while the 2006 tune is for use with P59 1 Mb PCMs.

Your Avalanche appears to be an early DBW configuration - it will have a 5 Wire TPS plug and a TAC motor plug going to the TB.

The 2002 junkyard PCM appears to be for a DBC configuration - with a 3 wire TPS plug, and would have had an IAC plug.

You can read the tunes (calibrations) at no cost. If you read your original tune, and the junkyard PCM tune - they will be using different OS.

A DBC OS will not operate a DBW platform.

yes it is dbw. And thats what i posted originally That it must be out of a 3 wire and mine is a 5 wire. So what do i gotta change in tune? Seems eveyone can find problem but no.one has solution. I.knew the problem in..2 secs thats.why i.thought maybe 06 would.work.but they have diff tb also. So what changes can i make to mine to make.it Work? Yes it has the..5 wire on.one.side and the dbw motor.on.the other side of.the tb .

No changes will make a DBC tune work with a DBW platform. You need to flash the correct OS / calibration for your vehicle.
