New laptop disconnects from interface when flashing, now car is dead.

I recently got a new laptop for tuning and it has been a royal pain in my ass.

The laptop is a HP Pavillion DV7. here are the specs.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
AMD Quad Core
4GB Ram

My HPT install is

Beta 2.23.281
I am using a USB HPT Pro
Instaled the drivers for channel A and B from the post here on the forum



My issue is that I got halfway through flashing the tune and the computer makes the same sound it does when I unplug the interface, then it immediatly makes the sounds it does when I connect the interface. When it does this the software can't find the interface and times out. It seems like the interface is being ejected and reconnected by the software.

My issue is that it did it after it had erased the tune I had in the car, so the car is dead, and I can't flash another tune because of the same issue.

Any ideas where to start on this?
