    Torque reporting

    Can we get access to change the torque reporting? For example, if I want I artificially inflate or deflate reported torque, can we get the necessary table(s) to do this? I am mostly interested in doing this to bring torque numbers back up after scaling for larger injectors.

    Just bought VCM Suite Hp tuners! Can't figure it out!

    unable to open file
    string was not recognized as a valid datetime
    came up when I tried to read entire vcm...
    If you know what the problem is please let me know!! Thanks

    On some platforms it seems that fudging displacement can affect tq calc, but often not on the platforms when it's most needed.

    In extreme cases, all you can do is run a trans pressure gauge and literally re-curve the FMC table (which really just regulates actual PCS bleed) to get the pressure back in line because tq/pressure scaling will not always make up the difference.

    Yeah I talk to chris a little bit about this a couple weeks ago. He Probly could add the table or tables needed but the problem is around the fact the ve coefficient tables would need to be perfect for it to work right. I have a feeling bad things could happen if it isnt. Right now with his current work load of e 78 pcm e 39 pcm and dodge pcm it maybe a while though before he can look into it further.
    It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

    try changing the Max Torque Timing table (MBT), the amount of torque the ECM calculates depends mostly on airflow and spark. The airflow part calculates the maximum torque the engine can make at the current airflow (so increasing airflwo increases torque). The spark part determines how far away from MBT the current spark is and reduces the calculated torque.

    ie. the higher the airflow is and the closer the current spark is to MBT table the higher the calculated engine torque will be. If you reduce the MBT table it will increase calc'd torque.

    From what I understand, the other guys somehow have a multiplier available.

    I essentially want to be able to double the calculated torque in all instances.

    Airflow scaling for larger injectors. NAmely E38 with A6 scenarios, although E40 applications would be nice as well.

    Can you offer some insight into the way the math works? If we can make it work with the MBT table, that's fine... Just need to know how to properly do it without trial and error.

    the PCM calculates the torque based mostly on airflow with some smaller corrections for EQ ratio and friction. Lets say it calculated a final torque 500 Nm.

    Then it looks at the MBT table spark and the current spark and determines an efficiency (a multiplier). If the spark is equal to the MBT spark, then the efficiency will be 100% ie. Calc'd torque would be 500Nm. If the spark is less than MBT the effciency is less than 100% and you would get a torque less than 500Nm. Calculating this efficiency is the only purpose of the MBT spark table.

    How much can you gain by lowering the MBT table? You would need to experiment but it should be possible to get reasonable increases, especially on boosted cars where the WOT spark is usually a lot lower than the MBT spark.

    I know this an old thread but did you guys confirm that raising mbt table lowers reported torque and vice versa! I have a stroked ls3 that I would like to get torque calculation right so it?ll play well with the a6.

    Thanks for the reply Ben Charles. I am aware of the virtual torque table. Will changing eq ratio coefficient table lower reported engine torque and transmission torque input #?s. They are reading way more in the scanner than the engine is making after stroking engine. I?m thinking This table and MBT spark table may be causing the over reported torque.
