Why does the idle go rich?

take a look at this log and tell my why it goes rich as soon as it reaches @ 170*

This is a OLSD tune using the MAF.

It happens right around 7 min and 50 seconds which is 480 seconds.

Check this out: Afterstart enrichment initial adder modifier vs soaktime

The value goes up exactly at 480 seconds.

Not 100% sure thats it, but see what happens if you change the value at 480 to the same value at 420, then relog and see if it then gets richer the 2nd log at 540 seconds. Pretty sure thats it tho, the timing is awfuly suspicious.

wow, nice find. I'll give that a try and see if it follows it. I have noticed if I take it for a drive that it corrects itself over time.

since it's a multiplier should it be a 1 in that area?

It should taper gradualy to one as it warms up.

Did you make the change, and was that it?

I have only had a chance to try it one time but what I did is change the table from 120 up to all 1

something effected it but this time it went lean. I'm not sure what is happening around when the temp gets around 170*

I wonder if the MAF could be causing it to act funny in that range. I might try a cold start in just SD and see what happenes

Hmmmm! Something that has always driven me crazy with mine & the reason I never liked OL idle. When restarted after it is heat soaked it idles very lean & unstable for a period of minutes, of course in CL it corrects that, when OL it is not very nice.

These tables look like what I need modify to correct that problem.

    Awesome tip....Tx's

ok I got around to trying the same tune without the MAF and it's doing about the same thing as the last log, going lean about 7 1/2 minutes after start.

is it normal to go to the "Afterstart enrichment initial adder modifier vs soaktime" table and adjust the section where it's going lean now?

Normal as in every day, no - but its more common with cams. Make some changes gradualy and see how it likes it, then keep us posted.
