    1999 VCM with 700R4

I have not see a sticky on this, maybe someone knows . . .

I am putting a 1999 5.7 GM Vortec (yes complete stock engine and harness, VCM, under-hood fuse box, two cats and all four O2 sensors) into a vehicle which has a really beefed up self lockup 700R4 that works great.

Is there something the VCM needs done to it to ignore trying to shift a non-existent 4L60E / 80E - or I guess I should say - tell it there is a manual transmission back there?

I would simply just turn off all Transmission related DTC's, as well as zero out all torque management tables. I would start there and see how she reacts.

I have had the opposite on my own truck. A factory PCM controlled 4L60E behind a carbureted 350.
