For lambda reading in the scanner the function is 1/10.407 + .618

The resolution on the divisor isn't great so I use the List to describe the voltage to lambda output.

That makes no sense at all since the earlier versions of 2.23 beta had this in it. They didn't have the system like bluecat, but the software showed the calculated v.e. table. They for some reason removed that and I've been waiting since for it to come back.

Well maybe Bill can comment but that is what he told me earlier this year.

I dont know why they couldnt just use a blank LS2 VE table in there so you can copy and paste numbers into - then youd have access to the smooth feature, multiply by % functions etc. Seems like this is already created, wouldnt take anything to add it????? Come on guys, make this happen!! Maybe if we all PM them about it?

I thought the custom OS overwrites the code for that part of the operating system with a traditional VE look up table.

1.) Copy VE equations from my tune into the software to build a VE table
2.) Force MAF off in the tune
    3.) Force open loop
4.) Scan AFR % error (commanded vs. actual -Wideband) in histogram (VeLoAltd table) where MAP is column headers and RPM area row headers.
5.) Adjust virtual VE table in the program by the error % observed in the histogram, save table.
6.) Load VE equations into tune from software

Assuming the steps I have outlined are correct, could I also use fuel trims in closed loop to tune the VE table in step 4?. I have 10% ethanol fuel in my area so when I tune the lower rpm/MAF ranges in open loop the wideband the trims are always correcting. If I changed stoich to 14.2 would open loop with the wideband be the preferred option? I've heard the o2's are pretty accurate in idle and part throttle.

    Thanks.
do youself a favour and forget the VVE shit...

just apply the 2 bar OS and set the MAP sensor valves back to stock under the engine diag tab,

rescale the VE table back to 105KPA and tune it like a normal car..

put some numbers in there from a LS2 VE table and get started, no messing around and save your self a heap of time..

    Amen!

If you have the tools, might as well use them. If you don't have the enhanced OS available then no harm using the factory OS as it is more than capable, but the Enh OS is pretty handy.

May be speculating on this but I would imagine the VE lookup table you see just modifies the coefficients to reflect the VE you are seeing. It would take alot of coding to rewrite each OS to take out the virtual VE and replace it with just an older version of GMVE with a table.

I'm all set. Used the Bluecat program and it was quite simple actually. Car is running good with the new cam. Thank you everyone for your input

    you are incorrect,

the Custom OS acutally removes all the coefficients and replaces them with a full VE table,

Why not? We offer custom operating systems all the way through 2012's last I checked.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Get the car Tech-II'd to the latest OS... If you have unlimited licensing, just grab a file that has the OS available and start with that. Just change the VIN.
