Thread: Gen 5 Camaro PCM PE MAP Enable

    Gen 5 Camaro PCM PE MAP Enable

    I know this is not a GEN IV topic but did not know where to ask.
    I am having problem with the Power Enrichment/PE Enable/MAP settings.
    No matter how low I have the enable setting, While scanning, I am unable to enter PE at anything less than 90 kpa. Is there something I am missing?

    I will attach my tune.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Engine > Fuel > Power Enrich > Power Enrichment PE table. Set "Map" to your desired KPA setting you want to enter PE. It is set to 83 KPA at the moment.

    Yes that is what I set the value at. But time after time while logging, it will not go into PE until at least 90 kpa no matter how low the MAP setting.
    Could there be something else I'm missing to enable PE at lower setting? Maybe in the open loop settings?

    When I log, my scanner is reporting 100% when at full throttle position.

    I'm not quiet sure how to post screen shot. You will just have to trust me. No matter how low I set the MAP value it will not enter into PE until 90kpa.

    In fact in 5th or 6th gear at a low RPM but high g/cyl, it may not enter PE until 110 to 115 kpa. I don't think it actually needs that much fuel at such low RPM high load area (0.84 - 0.92 g/cyl @ 2000-2200 rpm) as I do not pick up any KR. Not really concerned about that area as I rarely play there.

    1st thru 4th gear is where I should be able to enter PE at whatever value that I set. There is something going on with the PCM 1st thru 4th that is different than 5th or 6th.
    My GenIII engine will enter PE at exactly the KPA value as set.
    Just thought someone could look at the tune and see if there is anything I am missing.

    Thanks DSteck, I will try these settings in the morning. Which one of these settings/changes do you feel would cause my problem?

    I am basically trying to chase down the reason for some ocassional KR at a random RPM/throttle position that appears around 86-89 KPA.

    I'm spinning my TVS relativily fast and boost increases instantly, hence the reason for my Enrichment Rate setting at (2). Currently, I will be at (Stoich) until 90 kpa and then drop down to a richer setting at 91 kpa or the point at which I enter PE.
    I'm trying to throw a little fuel to it earlier without removing timing. I know I could set to open loop but I like to keep my STFT enabled. I just felt if I could get the PCM to drop into PE a little sooner it may solve my problem.

    Actually I just adjusted the changes you made one at a time. The single culpret was the PE ENABLE TPS / HOT When you changed the setting across the table from 10 to 5. I was then able to enter PE at any value that I choose.
    Who would have thought!
