Question What if I want idle flare up?

I've been driving a few Dodge vehicles lately (V8 Magnum, V8 Ram 1500) and they both have an idle flare before settling on the target idle speed. Seems like on a start, the RPM's flared up to 1500-ish before settling down to 600. I'm not talking about a cold start where idle starts high and as ECT raises idle drops. This happens even when warm.

Is there anyway to make a GM vehicle do this?

Never tried it, but I would imagine if you increased startup airflow initial, and then played with the decay rate you could accomplish this. But why????

It's just neat to hear. I think of it like the engine is growling at me before finally settling down.

Idle flare spark control and startup airflow are the two main contributors.

If you're wanting to do it when coming to a stop while driving, you could try putting an airflow value spike in your rolling idle or Throttle cracker table at 2mph.

I was hoping for initial start up only. During driving I want the idle to be rock solid.
