Didnt hear the end of it when we got back to the parking lot. It would max timing at 15*, and I had a boost leak that was killing me as well. You in the Houston area?
edit: league city isnt too far from here maybe a hour at most. You should swing by one weekend
I might swing by sometime I actually done a few tunes up north houston. Lately I have been down towards sugarland and pasendena working also.

Update on the nitrous set up. I bumped the jet to exactly a 75shot, changed my nozzle since it was a old style, heated the bottle to 1100psi and made a few runs. Trying to get a good 60-100 pull is very difficult. The car spins initially until about 70mph without nitrous but not bad "just churps", i spray it just before 5k rpms so about 75mph and it starts to spin again but worse. it hooks up at about 86mph on the scanner from what i can tell and pulls hard as hell! Fastest ive recorded using this method is a 4.1 60-100. Iats drop now about 10* on a full 3rd gear pull.
Question for the big turbo guys, Does anyone notice the speedo and tach being sooo laggy? Ive made a lot of pulls on this car so i can hear when its time to shift. I payed close attention to it today and the speedo is at 95mph when i let off but climbs to 105 very quickly after then goes back down. If I look at my logger i let out at 104, then momentum takes me to 105 before it starts to slow down. the tack is worse! says 6k rpms when i let out and after looking at the logger it was at 6700??

Kappa's use the same cluster, and yes, the speedo and tach are both hella slow. I have one apart right now waiting for a custom gauge faceplate. I was thinking about taking the stepper motors apart and making them move faster! When gauges get old they loose the oil dampening that keeps the needle from being erratic, maybe I can figure out a way to free up the oil dampening some on this cluster.

I was almost going to pull the trigger on some nice big Auto Meter gauges and completely rework the cluster with them in it. The cluster design on these cars is really crappy though, not much you can do to modify them. I don't want to loose the idiot lights and the DIC readout so that makes the options of swapping to an aftermarket speedo and tach extremely limited. Maybe I need to ditch the whole stock cluster and completely build my own dash and gauges!

Thats what i was going to do with my truck after i put the 5.3 in it. The harness came with the wires labled to just cut and splice the factor harness so you could use factory guages but its a show truck and i think it would be sick to just cut a piece of aluminum out that fit the cluster then cut the holes for manuel style guages. I never thought about doing it with my cobalt. there is a pretty good size board on the back of the insterment panel on the cobalts so it would probably be a pain to figure each pin out or wire unless there was a actuall diagram to refer to.

i want to see someone run a moded crank that can fit a wider aluminum rod and run some Nitromethanol Race gas just to see what she does. something not to crazy like 30-40% nitro blend...no need for the 88% top fuel regulation mixture. all you need is to get about a 1.7:1 afr logged in and pull timing way back and should be good.
