Boost Limit Enable/Disable settigns for CTS-V?

We tuned a CTS-V a few months ago with an overdrive crank pulley. Everything went as expected. The car peaked at 11.8 psi boost.

The customer just brought the car back for retune with a new pulley foir more boost. When we hit 12.8 psi the engine dumps boost back to about 10 psi and then clibs back to 12 psi where it dumpse it again.... repeat cycle every half second or so...

It dosen't look like any belt slip I've ever seen and the tensioner is not visibly jumping. Datalogged Throttle Position is staying at full throttle (84 SAE).

Looking over the tune it looks like I might be hitting a boost limit (in the tune under the supercharger section) but I don't understand the labeling or know how the "Boost Limits," "Boost Disable," or "Boost Control" functions work.

Does anybody have some advice or pointers they could give me?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Raise the Map disable to 230kpa and Map enable to 210kpa. That should do it.
1971 Corvette-LS3 swap with custom cam. Stainless headers and sheet metal intake built by the owner. 442rwhp.

    2007 STS-V-Billet Precision 67mm turbo swap. 563rwhp@15psi.

1991 Camaro-6.0 swap with LS6 heads and custom cam. Headers and other swap bits fabricated by myself (wife's car)

I tried that (in between when I made my first and second post). That solved the first problem.

Now I see I got the following code:
[ECM] P0106 - Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) System Performance (Old) (Immature)

The light isn't on now but I'm wondering if when I hit 15 psi it is maxxing out the MAP sensor? Does this car have a 2-bar sensor and I need a 3-bar sensor? The datalog shows 203kpi Manifold Absolute Pressure right before the boost drops.

    Tim, Thanks for your suggestion.

Raising the boost Disable/Enable settings by another 6psi smoothed out the wild boost flctuations and enabled me to make a smooth dyno pull, where boost climbed steadily from 12 psi at 2000 rpm until it reached 15 psi @ 4000 rpm. Once I reached 4000 rpm and 15 psi the boost dropped like a rock down to 6 psi @ 4200 rpm. At that point the boost held steady at 6psi for the rest of the run until I stopped at 5000 rpm.

I made another run and the same thing happened at the exact same rpm and manifold pressure.

I am sure the map sensor is a 2 bar so that code could easily come from maxing the map.

I shut off the P0106 code and the car pulls smooth with no boost loss.

I tried raising some of the MAP/MAF and MAP Throttle correlation limits but that did not fix anything. So It looks like I'm stuck with shutting off the code.

I've been tuning cars for years but the GM stuff is relatively new to me. Is there a 3-Bar map sensor that is readily available that I should install?

Also, now that I'm able to do a full pull to high rpm, the car is clearly in need of a bigger injector (and possibly a fuel pump). Any suggestions?

    Thanks again.

i don't have a CTS-V, but looking at a 2011 OS file i have for a CTS-V shows it has the same 3 bar MAP sensor setting as used in the ZR1

I would also disable all boost limiters in the Supercharger settings.

So how do you get boost to show in your table? It's not one of my predefined options, so I'm guessing you have to make a custom PID....

What exactly do I need to define? after reading some others it looks something like this maybe?

volts / (what ever the 3bar sensor is) + 10....

    maybe i'm way off.

I'll keep on searching just saw this thread and Thought I'd ask.

Here is the custom PID I use with the MAP sensor in PSI:

    ([PID.11.PSI]-[PID.51.PSI])*(([PID.11.PSI]<[PID.51.PSI])+1+(([PID.11.PSI]<[PID.51.PSI])*.04))

Here is the thread I found on it.

Rock on. I'll give it a whirl. Think it will work in my 09 v?

I bet it will, if it works on my STS-V I bet you can get it to work too. Make sure you add the Baro sensor and MAP to your logs. You guys have a true baro right?

Cool deal. I'm brand new to tuning yourself so any suggestive reads I'd dig it. Pm em to not clutter this thread.

Sometimes you have to manually disable the P-valve (wastegate).
