    Tune or something else?

    Once again i am having drama with my GP. I need some advice/ insight on what could be my problem.

    I have NIC cam, i recently had it tuned but it still is not running correct. When i start the car i have to pump the gas like an old carbed car. Once its running it runs real rough for the first 10 seconds then seems to settle out. If i leave it running or tap the gas it will start to surge on its own, drops to 500 RPM and climb back to 1200 RPM. If i start driving it hesitates when i try to accelerate, sometimes it stalls. After crusing from 60 or so and come to a stop light the RPM will drop down and start to surge again just like above, stalls most of the time once the car stops. When in gear it always hesitates when trying to accelerate, bogs down then picks itself up.

    The other week i was trying to drive it and i had a p102 code pop, i checked the MAF and cleared it. The code has not came back up.

    As for the tune, i have read that the NIC cam needs to be in OL but when i was looking at the tune that i had someone due, its set for CL, the enabled degree is at 44. If it is suppose to be in CL it should be 255 or higher, correct?

    My question is do you guys think this is a tune issue or a mechanical issue?

    If its mechanical what ideas do you guys have?
    I have checked the MAF, replaced IAC and checked all vac lines.

    Thank you for your adivce, sorry for being so long.

    How do most peolpe post their tunes? Sorry im new to this.

    Also my issue is now the hesitation when i try to accelerate. I found that the surging was from a bad IAC, which i had replaced once already.

    Thanks

    i believe its a tune issue because if my cars tune is out it does the same thing but it also will do it when my iac is acting up

    I will hopefully have the new IAC in tomorrow, that should fix the surging issue. As for the hesitation im guessing the MAF tune is off, and i have no idea how to even know its right or not.

    Does anyone have any ideas of what i need to be looking for?

    A log would be good here. Need to see a log so we can compare that to your tune. Without a log we would just be shooting in the dark bud... I can say though, if you are trying to run a OL tune you need to raise that enable degree quite a bit. That is low even for a CL tune. To run an OL tune you need to set that temp at a point you will never see. What are the spec's of that cam if you could? Don't know if you really do need to run an OL tune, I would guess you do not. Just need to tune it properly man

    I will have a log posted up tomorrow evening, as long as i can get the new IAC taken care of. The only reason i figured i needed to run OL was because many other peolpe with the same cam ran it that way. Im still trying to figure all the tuning stuff out, i had the car sent out to have it tuned and now it seems worse because it wants to hesitate and stall all over the place

    Below are the specs on the NIC cam;

    220°/230° at .050"
    Intake Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
    Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
    112 Lobe Separation

    Should be no problem to tune that cam and keep CL tune in place. Post that log when you get a chance

    Hey,

    Sorry it took so long to get back to this. i had to wait to get a N* TB IAC, those things are stupid expensive. Luckly i found the whole TB for 75 bucks.

    Here is where i am now;

    Replaced the IAC and the car starts on first key turn, no more pumping the gas like before. The first 30 seconds of driving it runs good, no hesitating when i try to accel. After those 30 seconds its different, back to the same issue. On top of that when it shifts into second gear it starts to surge even though i am accelerating. Basically i am at square one still besides the hard starts.

    Attached is the log with the tune, someone please let me know what you find

    Thanks
