Why does scanner show 158mph at idle?

I swapped in a ly6 into my sonoma backed by a t56. Heres the first startup scanned file along with the tune. The speedometer on the cluster shows nothing but I havent put it into gear and had it move under its own power yet to see if the speedometer actually works or not. Not to that point yet. Not sure if it has to do with the settings in the tune? The tune was orginally a '10 Colorado 5.3 tune and its on its '10 e67 ecu.

Actually, all laughs aside, your controller shows a seed of FFFF. GM doesnt allocate FFFF factory seeds. Your controller is most likely corrupted and has had the wrong model year write entired into it at some point. The mem location where the speedo info is has probably been overwritten by the same FFFF data. FF = 256kmh or 158mph.

Its a '10 e67 ecu for a '10 Colorado. The factory Colorado tune was flashed onto it with a GM MDI unit. I did a read entire when I recieved it and modded the tune to look like a ly6 tune. Theres no tcm since Im running a t56 so the read entire doesnt show one. It has the correct model year tune on it. Everything is new.

Well yes it all sounds in line but the FFFF seed is a tell tale that something is amiss as is the speed PID stuck on 158mph.

Are you sure a manual trans tune was dropped in?

I was told by Hp support that theres no trans segment swaps on e series ecu's. Others have run these ecus (e38/e67) before witrh manual trans while running tunes out of auto vehicles though wonder what they've done?

Aside from the seed what method did you connect your speed feed from the manual trans to the ECM?

I had the harness built for my swap by Current Performance wiring. Im waiting on a set of wiring diagrams for a '10 Colorado that this setup is basically built for, then I can trace stuff. Know off hand what pins on the ecu to look for that the vss should be going to? It doesnt have the tcm and I know the e38 ecu's that people have been using for vvt swaps wont allow a vss signal straight to the ecu without a tcm but these e67 ecu's are also in manual vehicles.

Should be all wired fine from Current. If the ECM tune is for an auto though it will be looking for the speed signal to come in from the trans on the CAN bus even if Current has wired in the VSS to the ECM which I would bet they have.

Try switching your speedo output source to reptos from serial if your speedo is not working. dont know if that will fix the scan showing 158 but it is a typical change for a manual.

Well switched to reptos and the speedometer and odometer works now and accurately compared to my gps that Ive been using but scanner still reads 158mph? That doesnt make sense does it?

Cool. . It does and does not make sense. GM speedo options are a . Have seen similar things before especially on truck tunes. Its either the scan paramater is being read from the wrong place for a manual or area of the memory where the parameter hangs out is FF'd by the same thing that set the seed to FFFF.

Would enabling some dtcs do anything? I was comapring a 2009 colorado 5.3 , to CTSV manual tune E67.

Try looking at dtcs P0503, P0502, P2161,P2160, P0851, P0852B and compare them to the
cadallac CTSV tune in the tune repository. I can link it to you if need be.

Look at an SSR manual tune,I read somewhere that people had to use that tune to get the speedo working. Cant remember if I read it here or on TBSSowners.com.

That probably was me, I have a 06 SSR manual tune, but that it for a E40 PCM 24x crank igntion, the E67 is for 58x crank ignition, unfortonately the two PCm's are completley different. I am looking to switch two a E67, because the newer truck I am getting will be more compatable wiht it. My crank is also bent, so might be a god time to switch reluctors, crank sensors, get a LS2 front cover cam sensor, and LS6 reluctor for the cam (3 bolt 2x cam wheel/timming chain)

I am using the beta. Ill have to try the non beta, any idea how to go back to the older version? Actually I think you have to use the newest beta version on '10+ ecu's? Something that Ive heard?
