Help... 8 degrees KR at idle on new engine

I just finished installing a 383 stroker with 60lb injectors and 100mm MAF in my truck. I also have a Magnusen blower, long tubes and a biggish cam, CNC'd heads with roller rockers.

I'm trying to get this thing to idle decently on a 6.0 tune, I've put in the tables for the MAF and larger injectors. It's running really rich and wanting to die. I've messed around with the idle air tables to no avail. Strangely, my wideband is usually pegged at 17 and the scanner is showing a consistent 8 degrees KR, even though I've zeroed the KR tables. I'm about to give up on this thing and pay someone to do it. Any helpful tips?

Post the tune and a log file.

You'll eventually need to find the cause of the knock but in the name of being able to work on your idle, did you zero out the knock vs MAP, and RPM and set the Min RPM to something above your idle speed? Is it actually registering knock retard or reduced timing? Only asking because there are many other items that will pull timing.

Post the tune, config and logs in 2.22 if you want me to look at it.

Here is a tune I've been working on to get this thing to idle. I've used some supercharged 6.2 air and fuel tables from another bin. I'm new to this so any pointers will be a huge help.

That's in 2.23 so I can't look at it but you have me curious. Why are you saying you're idling rich when your wideband says you're pegged lean? Don't go adjusting idle airflow to control your rich/lean problems. Adjust the MAF and VE tables (and the OLFA if you're in warmup mode before closed loop occurs)

I tried to download 2.22 but it says I need the framework. (???)

With the new things I've changed I'm getting around 14.8 AFR now which tells me I can safely run it. It seems to want to idle low and die sometimes even though I selected 800 rpm's for idle. Maybe I should go higher. There is smooth acceleration from idle as well but I don't want to push this before I have one of you more experienced guys have a good look at what I'm doing wrong or right (more likely wrong!).

It still smells awfully rich and I'm afraid I'll wash down the cylinders if I'm not careful. Should I try reducing VE by a certain percentage?

If you don't have cats, don't worry about the rich smell. When you're rich, you're high in one gas and lean, high in another. Go off your wideband and STFT's.

download the drivers, extract them to your desktop, open your device manager and load A&B drivers. I'm thinking that may be your issue.

It says the new framework is incompatable with previous framework. I guess you can't run both versions...

Email [email protected] and ask them for the 2.22 that does not need the frame work.

PS, you need to get the fueling and spark figured out before messing with the idle airflow. The base idle airflow requirement will change as you get closer to optimal fueling and spark.

OK, these thing are great to know, thanks. Can I undo what I've done with idle airflow?

Leave it for now if it's idling. Get the fuel, the fuel trims, and the spark straight, then revisit the base idle airflow. Have to get the motor "happy" first.

I changed to a 2-bar speed density tune and reduced my knock sensor sensitivity. I've posted a new idle log, would anyone care to have a look and comment on this? I'd like to know if my timing is acceptable and if there's anything else that might keep me from running this engine. Thanks.
