    99 Vortec pcm problem

K here is my problem. We have a 85 trans am witch we swapped a 99 vortec computer to run it. Went to 4x crank and cam dist setup. Our problem is after 1 sec or so of run time or start up it dies. We are loosing injector pulse.
VATS is disabled. Only thing I can think of is the injectors are shutting off cause the tune for a poppet style injector is different than a standard style injector. Any help would be nice. Very new at doing this so please be easy on me.

Its not because the poppet style injectors. Are you sure the vats is disabled? post your tune file so we can double check. I got a vortec computer on my 92 tpi. did you install the 4 x cranksensor and the vortec dizzy?

that sounds exactly like what VATS will do. Post your tune

I'm curious as to why you used a 4 plug PCM instead of a 0411?

If he didn't change the dizzy to a vortec one it wouldn't know where number 1 is and probably not work either
My setup is a 356ci with a 260/268 (212/218 at .050 lift) duration cam with aluminium corvette heads and flat top pistons running 11.3 comp. ratio. with tuned port injection and vortec crank pick up and dizzy running a 411 pcm and 60lb bosch injectors, 1.6 ratio roller rockers. For transmission its a 4l65e built with the monster in a box mega ss kit. All in a 92 chevy ext cab 4x4 pickup with a 98 cab now installed with a third door! running only e85

I have yet to start tuning yet. I keep getting code p0339 witch might just be from the car idling up then quiting.

And yes I went to a 4x crank and a vortec dizzy. Picked out the computer and setup before I learned about the 0411 pcm.

Maybe you can post your tune so I can go through it. The pcm was sent to pcm for less for a base tune on the old motor setup. All I can say is wow they do some weird sh*t.
We are now running a 355 sbc with a t70 turbo with some afr heads, stealth intake and 60lb injectors.

the 339 code has to do with the crank sensor and that could be your problem. Bad connection or sensor maybe. are you sure you got the balance on all the way and your not using a double roller timing chain are you?

We are using a double roller chain. We have the TPIS front timing cover. Is there something I need to know?
Changed my AFR and It still fires and dies right away.
    Stupid car lol

I know with a stock timing cover and reluctor that the double roller will be to close and the sensor may pick up the sprocket for the timing chain

Well that would have everything to do with code p0339. I'll tear it apart tomorrow and check the reluctor to see where it lines up or is close to. Thanks for the help so far.

no problem. was going to go with a double roller and read about all the problems with fitments and decided to go with the bigger vortec chain. Hopefully you get it figured out

Well thanks for all the help. Found out the hard way a double roller chain will not work with a 4x crank without alot of work. The reluctor sticks out 1/4 in to far from the crank sensor. Just ordered a single roller chain then fire it up

Thanks again for all the help
