VCM read failed at loc: 2000 error: timed out

2008 Pontiac Torrent GXP, will not read the VCM. Error message is VCM read failed at loc: 2000 error: timed out. Anyone have any suggestions? The vehicle is like brand new, fully charged computer, vehicle, good connection, zero modifications to the vehicle. Want to tune for mileage...

    What pcm does it use?
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Yeah i dunno, 07's use an E38 pcm which we can support. Not sure what pcm 08's use though. Also what engine is it? If its the 3.4 its probably E38, although I could be wrong. Only way to know would be to take a pic pcm's service sticker.

The Torrent GXP has the 3.6L LY7.
Same engine as the G6 GXP, and the early Cadillac CTS.
As far as I know, they all use the E77 PCM, isn't supported at this point in time.
Last I heard, I think it was still low on the priority list, right?

Got a call this p.m. from someone wanting a tune for an '08 Pontiac G6 3.6 GXP. Checked the supported list; check. Pulled a posted tune from the repository; check.

It indicates that this car has the E67 ECM.

    08 Pontiac G6 3.6 GXP does NOT equal a 08 Pontiac Torrent 3.6 GXP

Sorry but it is what it is, its likely an E77 and not supported.

    Hi Bill and HPTuners gang,

Sorry to resurrect this old topic, but I'm another Pontiac Torrent GXP owner. I have to say I've been constantly frustrated with almost NO aftermarket upgrades being made for this high-performance version of the Torrent. No cold air intakes, no chips, no exhaust...no nothing! I endeavored to fabricate my own intake and performance cone filter because nobody makes a thing for it except the stock-config K & N filter, I suppose. As a result of this modest upgrade, I believe I'm running a bit on the lean side. I looked high & low from here to kingdom-come and there isn't a place on this earth, it would seem, that can do a tune on this car!

I've seen the supported vehicles list for VCM Suite and you show support for the '07 - '09 Equinox 3.6L, isn't that the exact same powertrain used with the Torrent for '08 - '09? If there's support for the Chevy version of the motor, would it be that difficult to add/extend the support to the Torrent 3.6? I would probably be all over this product if it did!
