Took me a long time to get idle dialed in with the 80s/e85. Tuning is going pretty well so far.

Hey I looked at your posted tune. You have stoich at 10. e85 stoich is 9.76. Also your PE is crazy rich. 10/1.5=6.66. I am running 9.76/1.2-1.19=8.13, 8.2 and that is still pretty rich. Doesn't your car just feel sluggish at that afr? I am going to keep leaning it out to ~8.5 to see if there is more power there.

Also what afr are you trying to hit? Is your wb setup for gas or e85? Maybe you're logging it incorrectly. Is that the config you are currently using from post #131? You need to take afr error from your wideband. for me using e85 I am using this afr error pid: 100*(([AUX.20121]/1.506)-[SENS.121])/[SENS.121] The 1.506 being the conversion from gas to e85(14.7/9.76). Also did you scale your maf after the 1.5 to 1.3 adjustment? Thats all that really matters. If you didn't then the afr shouldn't have changed.

Yes you are correct on both. It does not run rich at all. I run out of injector... So I just was messing around with it to keep it as rich as possible until my new injectors come in.

Also that last tune I posted is when I get the injectors in. I guess I didnt change the PE ratio for that one yet.

Is there a certain reason you run the enrichment rate at 1.2?

Sorry I was editing my post as you posted. look at my Q's I added.

No I meant PE Eq Ratio. You have it at 1.5. So that would make your afr 10/1.5=6.6. That is very rich. Lean it out.

You should do 14.7/12 and use that to get the right afr. I know your stoich is set as something else but in gas terms your going for a 12.0 afr on wideband.

So you don't do the stoich you have set in the tune divided by afr you need?

  9. #149
That gives you your eq ratio. If your doing 10/1.5=6.66*1.506=10.03 would be your wb reading. Your looking for 12-13 so you are really rich.

So for me with 9.76/1.19=8.2*1.506=12.35. So my target wb reading is 12.35 for wot.

that sounds about right . This is the main table that is used to tune WOT fuel for post 1999 V8 engines. The values in this table are Equivalence Ratio's (Fuel/Air multipliers or AFR divisors) ie. values greater than one are richer, values less than one are leaner. The values relate directly to the Stoich AFR and the resulting commanded AFR is Stoich divided by this PE equivalence ratio. Eg. if the multiplier is 1.1 then the commanded AFR will be 14.7/1.1 or 13.36.

How does she idle with 80# injectors? Do you have a return line system? I'm still waiting to get my injectors. I tried ordering them from sinister drag designs but they never sent them now I'm battling it out from paypal to get my refund.

Idle took a long time to get right, but its acceptable. I know I still dont have the right injector data in, but its running decent. Wot runs are showing sure gains at about 8.3-8.4 afr(12.5-12.6 on wb). I am going to stop there. I am running the stock system with 80s. Stock pump is keeping up fine and the injectors are only seeing ~70% idc. I am running a 2.9 pulley, but I am putting on a 2.7 tonight and do a few pulls. Sucks about the injector hassle. Order your injectors from ZZP.

I'll have to check out that site when I get money back. I think I got the injector values correct on that last time I uploaded if u want to look at that.

I wonder the difference between the Siemens Deka and Mototron. I read in numerous places that they are the same injector...

  15. #155
Yeah I think you're right, bmotorsports uses both deka and mototron in the same description. Only sayin order from zzp because I have spent a ton of money there and they have good customer service and stuff get shipped out really fast.

I am going to do another couple logs tomorrow and try to dial it in and I'll share some more info. I am getting a lot more timing in the midrange on e85.

Ima check your injector stuff too. I never adjusted my offsets from the 60s

I took a gamble and ordered them from there. If the end up sending me the injectors instead of refunding my money I may have an extra set for sale.. I hope those settings work out for you.

Had a set back here as well...sounded like I had an exhaust leak...cracked header...crack was at the collector before the o2 sensor likely throwing it off for the past couple days, but when i pulled the o2 sensor out to have the header repaired it was bad too...something was rattling inside it and I could see that was cracked as well! Too much heat. lol.

I had that happen before. I had too much weight on the manifold. After making numerous revisions and adding braces I think mine is fixed.

Tuning these large injectors are indeed a chore. I attempted in tuning my ve tables last night but I couldn't get the Lo altitude table adjustments to make a difference on the afr. I disabled the maf, closed loop, turned off learn fuel trims and disabled decel fueling. I ended up keeping those values stock and maf tuning. It's getting better. Still has a little choppy idle and runs a bit rich when tipping into the throttle off idle. Could that just be from having a returnles fuel system with big injectors?
