If you have them flash in a 2002 file with a 97 vin you won't be able to license the pcm with our software as our licensing must see a valid vin/os pair which that would not be.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

pcm would need to be flashed with a valid vin/os pair according to gm http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web

    Wouldnt it work?

They say they flash the proper calibration programed to the specific car.

This auction is for one 12200411 Ecm that will arrive at your door ready to install with the proper calibration programed to your specific vehical. This ECM will fit the follwing application:

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 1500 V6 4.3L 262cid GAS FI N Engine VIN = W

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 1500 V8 5.0L 305cid GAS FI N Engine VIN = M

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 1500 V8 5.7L 350cid GAS FI N Engine VIN = R

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 2500 V6 4.3L 262cid GAS FI N Engine VIN = W

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 2500 V8 5.0L 305cid GAS FI N Engine VIN = M

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 2500 V8 5.7L 350cid BI-FUEL Engine VIN = R

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 2500 V8 5.7L 350cid GAS FI N Engine VIN = R

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 3500 V8 5.7L 350cid GAS FI N Engine VIN = R

    2001 - 2002 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 3500 V8 8.1L 496cid GAS FI N Engine VIN = G

******GM installed this 12200411 ECM in all of the above applications. This was possible because each of these models received their specific programming from the factory. In other words, you can't simply swap a used ECM from one vehicle to the next. We are a licensed user of the same GM software that a GM garage would use to reprogram and update your computer. With your purchase we will reprogram the ECM, with the latest software updates available from GM, to your specific vehicle using your VIN (vehicle identification number).

They would be using a valid vin/os pair ie 2002 silverado vin with a 2002 silverado operating system

I'm doing this swap this coming weekend. I'll be able to help after I do the swap. Been researching a great bit and got everything I need to do it. If your getting your ecm from spareecm on ebay they will include connectors for 35 and a few extra ends. good luck

hey man i see you are having troubles i did this swap and you need the tuning file from an 02 express or savana with a 5.7l vortec and the proper transmission code 4l60e or 4l80e last i looked one with a 4l60e was not listed in the repository and being a mechanic i flashed mine using gm software on my otc pegisys and modified from there if you need the base program installed go to a local shop and have it flashed after you install the pcm
