KR at Launch - Dragstrip Run

    Noob here ....

Got a tune and log from a track night. As soon as I hit the throttle I get some KR then it goes away.

Still want to tweak my MAF and adjust my PE after sensor has been replaced.

    burst knock?

Its burst knock. I had the same problem in my CTS-V I increased the recovery time and it would only pull timing when I launched then no knock at all.

So - is it actual knock or is it that the control system THINKS its going to knock and pulls timing?

anticipated knock. you can zero the burst knock tables to remove it.

Ok - will give it a shot. Heading to Cecil County this friday - will zero the tables and watch for KR.

I'll sneak in a little more timing advance until I see some KR, and if its only at the point where airflow rate changes rapidly - will back off a couple degrees at that point and maybe add half of the values of the original BK table.

Is this the proceedure most use?

I also run at Cecil County. I'll be there in my 2011 Camaro SS on March 25th. I'm just starting to walk from my broken ankle so I want to wait a little.

    Hope to see you there.

I prefer Wednesday nights once it warms up - not as crowded = more runs and less wear and tear on the track.

Last Friday a truck fresh out of the mud bog dumped dirt clods all over the starting line while I was doing my burn-out.

    Good luck with the leg.

    FYI

I had burst knock disabled on my CTS-V and still got the knock on launch. I made the recovery rate of the knock sensor faster. And I only get knock for a split second then back to commanded timing.
