i understand what you're saying, but i got some wild numbers in a 3rd gear pull too. i posted it on the VD facebook page but i'll find it and load it up here too.

here is a nice smooth 3rd gear log and the dyno graph i got out of it..
in contrast, here are 2 2nd gear pulls using the cobalt ss/sc profile.. (i have an ion redline)
these pulls were pretty much back to back.
and in response to rootbeer... dynodynamics from what i have seen tends to read rather low, around mustang numbers. so still not bad for a stock tune.
that spike is an anomaly ... what happened ... did you hit the clutch at WOT ... clutch slip ... something happened for sure. Its not something with VD causing that as that is exactly what the logger recorded. I bet we could see that in the data even. Graph Time vs RPM ...

i cant get the program to read this xml file or load it from the drop down list of vehicles?
not sure if i have the frontal area 100% correct. i was reading earlier in the thread about a "cars" folder that i do not have
is there a way for me to edit the parameters later on? i'm still trying to figure out if these are 100% accurate?
the year range was left out ... and the weight looks like a guesstimate. Just let me know when you have the specs complete as I can add them pretty quickly once you get them together.
Here is a 3rd gear log of a 2004 Z06 taken 20 minutes ago.
200 delta weight, 26.41 tires.
Is this a good log? Change to .csv and plug in and tell me what you think.
me? I dont know I dont have a Z06
The end of the graph sure has a big whip in it. When I trim out the whip I'm getting 373/400. Does that sound pretty close to you? I dont know what mods you have on the car or if its completely stock.

I use Virtual Dyno ... obviously since I wrote it. you can use the RPM slider at the bottom of each run box to trim to an RPM range. I used it to move the top RPM back to just before the whip to trim it out.
Does that help?
I downloaded the program last night and it opened fine. Now, it says that an unhandled exception has occured with a component in the program and won't open. Any ideas?
Also, I'm dumb when it comes to various types of files associated with computers, so what exactly do I need to do with a CSV file? In other words, how to I load my datalogs into the program? Sorry for the questions. I did read through the first few pages and then just figured I'd post up.
well it not loading is an issue we must solve first but you just drag and drop your csv file onto the application and it loads it for you. Then just give it the required info and up pops your graph. Its designed to be very easy to use and I think its done a good job of being VERY easy. If you set up a profile on the profiles menu then you can select the profile when you come into the app and then drag and drop runs on the app and it will use those settings from the profile to graph instantly. Thats a feature for the tuners that are loading lots of logs in a row for the same car. (I like making their life easier too)
Let me know more about this error on opening ... maybe copy the error and paste it here? Click the details button to get all the error info.
Keep me posted as I want to know you get it working for ya.
yeah lately when open the program, it takes a few mins for the program to load and actually open instead of a few seconds like it used to.
Caution:Slow Learner
do you have an internet connection on the machine you are opening it on? Or is this on the road without a connection. Maybe that will help me debug it.
with an internet connection
it takes a long time when it says "getting new car definitions"
Caution:Slow Learner
Does it always take forever on that step? That step should be VERY quick since its only downloading 65k of car definitions. It also shouldnt do that but every now and then when I release an update for the car defs.
yeah, didnt use to, but the last few weeks(i hadnt used it for a while before that) it has been doing it, it loads fast till the point in the pic and then stops for about 2-5mins everytime
