    just downloaded this. using with hptuners. I added the car information in however when I try to load the car i get this error:

    See the end of this message for details on invoking

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    Any tips to getting it to work?

    I gave this a shot with data recorded on the Dyno... Doesn't seem to match up, what am I doing wrong?
    2001 Camaro Z28, 4th gear pull... When I use the csv from hptuners and select 4th gear the results are waaaay higher than the actual. I can include the csv if that helps?

    That doesnt work. You need to be on an actual flat road for the math in this program to work out correctly. This was something a lot of other people earlier in the thread were also struggling to understand. The datalog from your dyno run is not data that works in this program.

    Sorry I didn't realize that. I'll pull one of my previous logs and see what happens. Thanks.

    you have to use the correct weigh for the dyno for data logged while on the dyno...
    the Drum weight that the dyno uses will be what you need...

    if you want a graph that lines up with your dyno... just do a pull...take the data log and import it..make a generic car profile and name it dyno...also set up the drag values to 0.1 (just so its a non zero #)
    and then you can play with the weight of the car until your graph lines up with the dyno..

    then you can have a way to give people a graph from your laptop that can have AFR and Boost #'s if you want...

    Has anyone had success with dialing in WOT spark & fuel using this tool? If yes, I want to try it out. What procedure would be recommended? Change spark 2* at a time until the curve is the highest, then change AFR by .1 until the curve is highest? I'm not so much interested in it matching a dyno curve numbers as I am in optimizing performance.

    This software is an absolutely invaluable tool if you spend the time to get used to using it, & alter how you datalog your vehicle to make the software as accurate & repeatable as possible.

    In my own case, what I do is go out to a stretch of road nearby by home that is nice & straight, smooth, flat & most importantly, free of intersections, homes etc......basically the safest possible section of road that I can do WOT pulls on without fear of pissing people off or have traffic/pedestrian issues. Once out there, I have a feature on the side of the road I use to start my runs at (a tree line in my case). When I am about to do a pull, I use the Scanner to lock the trans in the lowest gear I can go WOT in without spinning the tires (to keep speeds as low as possible), bring the vehicle to a specific speed & go hammer down when I get to the feature I've decided to start my pulls at (the tree line). Go wide open until whatever rpm you deem necessary & let completely off. Export data from the scanner & import it to Virtual Dyno. If you start your runs from the the same spot, start at the same speed, the results are very repeatable & allows you to basically dyno whatever you want, whenever you want....no worries about burning up expensive dyno time. I've had very good success dialing in timing, air fuel ratios, valve timing etc.

    The software is as accurate as the data it gets, so the the more accurately you do your datalogs, the better results you'll get.

    Played with it a bit this afternoon. Curves are damn close up until around 4000RPM, and then they split and I'm not sure why. The only thing I did between the Dynojet pulls and this afternoon was install & calibrate a new wideband sensor, tweak the PE table & re-tune the overly rich tables.

    Here are some pulls I made in, er, Mexico recently... comparing commanded AFR 12.1-12.4. The upper end of the 12.2 & 12.4 curves completely split, and the only thing different between the two calibrations is the PE ratio. But in the graph, the AFR is shown as nearly the same. Speaking of which, how is it calculating AFR if I'm only logging lambda from my wideband sensor? If it's assuming a stoich ratio, it'd be nice if the stoich was definable in the application.

    Something else regarding SAE conversion. My log contains IAT & BARO, it'd be nice if when I checked the SAE box that it would populate these fields from the source data instead of digging through the CSV to locate and average the cells.

    I tried it out and a dyno from a dynojet that read 430/397, when I imported the hpt log, it read 920/823. How is that? The only way that I could get the numbers close was to lower the CF to something like .52.

    Did any of you guys experience this as well? IF so what did you do to fix it?

    I can't find Scott's exact post, but I think he posted somewhere in this thread about that. Off of the top of my head these are the requirements:

    * one pull per log (or else manually separate runs into separate CSV files)
    * straight, level road
    * HPT software without CSV bug (2.24 stable is fine)
    * Minimium PIDs: RPM, TPS
    * I add BARO & IAT so I can populate the SAE correction fields per run
    * Choose a relatively slow gear, i.e., the 1:1 transmission gear or the gear numerically below that gear

    To use dyno pulls:
    * use the dyno drum weight instead of the cars weight
    * modify the dyno correction factor to .01 to mimic no wind resistance

    I'm consistently getting it to over or under read by about 100kw. I'm guessing my data is a bit off. It lists a ford falcons Cv as 0.35 but from what I've read it is 0.292. I've updated all the gearing for a manual etc but no love.

    Cool program, I tried doing it myself in excel and found that filtering the data was the hard bit and thats what led me onto this. I personally think it is too inconsistent to be of much use, plus doing 3rd gear pulls on the street is pretty dangeous and illegal.

    Brad is working on an Android app for this. I'm a beta tester for it but some vehicle problems are preventing me from making good street pulls. Asked for help in another thread but got no responses, oh well.

    I cannot download the software, neither under windows 7 or 8.1 on desktop and laptop, Norton denies the access.

    I must be doing something wrong I'm running beta 2.25 scanner and it keeps telling me that I don't have the proper info entered I have the exact names of the tps and rpm per what it says in the csv file and I'm using engine run time are you guys using something different for time?
