    1998 Chevy vortec 350

I picked up a 98 1500 and so I know it can be tuned but the parameters seem pretty sparse is that normal or has it kinda just been not fully unlocked. I also have a buddy that has a 97 1500 too and he was asking me could he put a 98 brain in it so I could tune it or is there something physically different that will not allow the 97 to be swapped.

yes you can swap pcm's if your going to do a pcm swap then i.m.h.o. use a 0411 pcm and an 01 -02 o.s.

you will have to do alot of work but it can be done.

Do a search about the pcm swap on http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/

I know I came across the info when I was helping a friend with his 98. The Vortec motor is very limited in terms of how much power you can make due to the lift restrictions on the heads and no injector options for the central injection unit. Not saying it can't be done its just not cost effective in most cases.
