help installing on Win 7 .net 2.0 issues

Okay, so I'm a bit frustrated at this point so bare with me. I'm trying to installvcm 2.22 on windows 7 and it will not allow me to because I do not have .net framework 2.0. Since windows 7 is a 64 bit application I can not install 2.0 and have installed .net framework 4.0 instead. I still can not install vcm 2.22 because it is requiring .net 2.0. and does not appear to accept .net framework 4.0.

I've tried this on two different windows 7 laptops (thinking it was a laptop issue) and it will not let me install on either. Any ideas?

Not sure what the deal is with Windows 7, but I had to use the link above to load my HP tuner software and drivers yesterday. Everything installed and is working great.

microsoft released an update that conflicts with our previous installer settings.

I actually had the exact same problem when trying to install on a 3 month old SAMSUNG laptop... tried several different things.

Solution- Bought a new Toshiba laptop. Same OS, windows 7 home premium 64bit with NET Framework 4.0 but it installed right away. Still won't install on the Samsung. *shrug* I have a dedicated tuning laptop now
