Transmission downshift

How can I adjust the downshift point of a transmission on a 1998 Trans Am , the customer is complaining that when he's getting on the highway the car is to slow to downshift so he has to press more on the throttle , at this time the car is downshiting but to hard because the rpm is to high , so I need to find a balance in that .

log and tune... and probably should be posted in the transmission forum.. but have you tuned the shift tables yet? between the scenario with a log and tuning you and your customer should figure out whats the happy medium.
