    Russ k's adaptive idle config.

I am having problems with my truck hunting for idle at hot/cold start up. While searching for a solution to fix this, i see where some people were using this config. to help get the idle straightened out. I have searched for his config., but i cant find it. Thanks in advance..........Bob

Russ, is there also a write up on how exactly to use your config? This cfg is used for tuning the cracker and follower values, correct?

Can it also be used for full RAF tuning once VE and MAF are tuned properly?

Cold engine key on, start scanning, then start engine & let idle till operating temp without touching the throttle. Then copy the #1 idle desired airflow histogram (average) and paste into the RAF table of the editor. Make sure that the same units (imp. or metric) are used in both the scanner & editor.

Repeat in gear if A4 trans.

What kind of idle issues will this resolve?? I played around with my OLFA table to lean my idle out. If I use this, should I go back to my stock OLFA?

MY car started to stumble a lot at idle, will this help with that?

    Hey Russ,

Do you know if this procedure would work for Vortec idle tuning? I am working with a 99 Astro van with a 99 Suburban 350 tune and a HT383E replacement.

I think that this would only resolve your issue in open loop correct? Once in closed loop it would do its own thing since its using the O2s but I dont know for sure, someone help me on this cause I just switched to E85 and am having some minor idel issues (hunting after pushing the clutch in). Dont mean to hijack your thread.

    My Histogram is Blank.

I am sure it is something I am doing, since I am new to this thing. I followed the instructions, and after I ran the engine with the scanner in the scan mode, the Histogram was blank on all pages. I may be looking in the wrong place for the histogram, or I might not know how to tell it to start logging.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Dave

After you open the histogram window:
Did you try a right mouse click and then click on "load all values" in the pop-up window?

I just tried this also... the config file he has posted is all blank. And the right mouse click has no option of "load all values".

Am I missing something here? I copied my value from the histogram, but the Running Airflow table doesn't change when I paste the value.
