    Angry Malware virus on HPT?

TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen2 Trojan virus is on the disc and activates my antivirus to quarantine.
I can't get HPT to download off of the CD (it does but Malware shows up every time from the VC Scanner setup) and the interface won't work with this.

So what's a person to do when he needs his HPT after having his car on stands for 21 months.
I last used this program less than a month ago and noticed that some things were'nt working like getting my Scanner to pick up the wideband just installed or give me my readings through the gauges.

I paid 700 bucks for this and now can't use it?
Any advice because I'm at a loss with all this.
I can't afford to buy this again so what's a person to do?

Sounds like an issue with your antivirus software to me.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I'll turn off my Avira so that it won't see anything and try this again.
I'll post up if things change or don't.

This happens to me too. I searched it and its a common problem with avira. I just got the latest version of avira and I made it ignore it.

I thought I did have the latest but I've got the free version so maybe that's making it a bit less tolerant of some programs.
    I'll know something shortly.

Once I got the laptop checked again for viruses, I turned off the Avira.
    Everything downloaded perfectly.
I'm happy and I guess since this laptop is duty specific for tuning the car and a few others that i've done, I'll keep the Avira off.

Thanks Bill for the tip and other too.
    I'm happy again. *dances*

I understand the search feature and use it regularly.
But there are times that you have no time to sit down and just search out information.
So to you I apologize for the above and the rest, thank you.

You could buy Kaspersky, is cheap and excelent antivirus and it does not interfere with HPT tasks. I tested it on WinXP and Win7, no problems at all.

    Regards.

I just use windows essentials security personally. Its free and has worked fine for me thus far.
