    GMS+Pegged Maps/Knock/Breakup Bandaid

Got a new set of 3787's, gapped em to .27 and dropped them in. Car isn't breaking up or falling on its face when the 3bars get pegged at the top of third/fourth. EBC&laptop back this week hopefully so my nightmares will cease finally... But for now, this seems to be working, minus the whole terrible-for-internals dealio, but eh, whatever.

I was getting a lot of misfires part throttle on the 3787's last week after 9k miles. I put the 6510's back in for the week to see if it helps. 3787's looked fine though, gapped at .032 here.

Much fewer misfires this morning on the old 6510's. (2 ranges colder than stock) I guess I'll order 6509's soon for some fresh ones 1 range colder than stock. I thought the 3787's Laser Iridium were a higher grade plug than the 6509's (Iridium IX) but after reviewing the NGK site, I don't think so. The 6509s & 10s come gapped too wide though at .044"

From my findings if you want one range colder, yes. Seems like a better running plug.

I found the stock heat range (5) in the same plug yesterday also but don't have the # here. I can post it if you want but the colder ones work for my high speed commute just fine. Have to be careful closing the gap down though.

Yeah, it's just the gap. Car's loving .27. Gonna try the Autolite XP's next week.

NGK IX Iridium 4344 are the stock heat range (5) plug but also need to be gapped down to .032 ish

They also come gapped at .043, same as the 6509's & 6510's.

that sucks, I bought brand new 3787s the last time there was a thread, never installed them yet. I really need to install them. guess I might sell them off and get whatever is the best.

You might as well run them for 10 or 15k miles. That's about all I get out of any of them before the misfires start to increase. I'm at almost 40k, ready for a set of new ones soon.

OK, I believe you but my 6510's were .043 just like the specs say. In the long number, (LTR7IX-11) the -11 is the gap, .043. The 6509's are LTR6IX-11.

    -8 is .031

When I order the 6509's I'll see what I get. Thanks!

I got my 3787s off amazon as well, they are the best priced that I've found.
