4L80E swap in NBS 2007 truck

Has anyone done this yet? I was just wondering. I have a 2007 here that the customer put a 4L80 in w/ his 4.8L 1500 2wd and I got it rewired, but I am having problems finding a 4L80 segment ID for this OS: 12614088. Is it even possible?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Its not a segment anylonger, gm uses an entirely separate TCM for the newer vehicles.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I realize that, but if I do a write entire with a 4L80E program, won't it recal the TCM? I am trying to find a 4L80 TCM out of a junkyard to swap out with the 4L60E one now in case I can't do a write entire with the segment ID's. I can even do it if I can find a VIN from a 2WD w/ a 4L80E in it. I have a Tech2 to manage that if necessary.

Thats currently your best bet, since we don't license the tcm you wouldn't need to use any more credits doing this.

Ok, got it going finally. It shifts just fine, but that 4l80 sucks alot of power out of a stock 4.8L. That was a pain in the azz.

Why did the customer do the swap? A 4L80E sounds like major overkill for a 4.8L.

No clue. He also has 38's and a 8"-10" (or so) lift to make it look 4wd when it is just a 2wd.

LOL! I truly hope a motor swap is next. My 07 Sierra with a 4.8 is barely strong enough to turn my 33's.

Glad you got it worked out.

    As a side note:
IIRC a Tech2 will write the TCM separately from the ECM.

So, if you have access to a Tech2 you can put the proper cal in the T42 trans controller if you have the right VIN number.

That's exactly what I found out EC. I used a 2008 Express van 4L80E TCM code and programmed it in with the TechII.
