Thread: Which Injector?

    Which Injector?

Simple question... I am in the market for 60# injectors. Which ones should I get? Is there any particular brand / style that is easier to tune? Motor is '07 Corvette LS2, procharged, 7psi boost, performance products intake. (intend on increasing boost) I would like to use the factory style injectors.

ZR1 injectors. Maggie has been using them with the kits.

You'll have some degree of compromise either way.

The ZR1 injectors have an angled spray pattern that will aim at the port wall instead of the valve. This may require some adjustment in your dynamic fueling control to really get things right during transients. On the Plus side, most of the data for these injectors is right there in a stock ZR1 tune. You just can't use the impact factor data from the ZR1 since the installed angle is different in the manifold. You'll also likely run into the 512g/s airflow limit if you're making any serious boost; so leaving the injector flow unscaled is only a partial win here.

If you opt for the popular Siemens Deka (Conti) 60's (which really flow ~73#/hr @ 4 bar), I've included the proper data to make these work perfect as part of my "Beginner's Tuning Guide" DVD. You'll just need to scale the tune for everything to fit work smoothly. This is actually very helpful since it also effectively raises your airflow limit as you'll see in THIS THREAD. If you're planning to buy 60's, I'd strongly recommend spending a little extra to get a flow matched set.

I'm going to try 52 pound injectors for now. The Bosch ones.
