    Question before purchasing

    Hello, I'm Jason from Myrtle Beach area SC. New member, long time lurker lol. Ready to push the pay now button, but one question before I do. I have a 2007.5 NNBS Silverado that was custom tuned through a diablo sport intune. Will I be able to scan and save the custom tune, then revert to factory through the intune to unpair it? Then keep both?

    I can't say for certain but it will may change the something with the files and then make you licence both and you are out even more credits.

    I wouldn't risk it. Those diablow tunes are pretty much crap anyway, I wouldn't want to run one on any of my vehicles.

    You are better off starting with a completely stock calibration.

    Both tunes that is. I know I'll no longer need the intune.

    The custom tune is pretty good, just lacking in spots. Would really like to be able to compare it to the factory tune.

    You can open the file and save if you wanted too, you just shouldn't licence both.

    You are allowed to view any tune and save it without spending credits. So if you want, you can download the diablow tune and save it. Flash it back to stock and then read and save your completely stock file and have the other tune to compare with.

    Well, one more question. I plan to install a turbo eventually so best to get 2.5 bar os now or wait until I get the hang of it?

    Not all computers support a 2 bar OS upgrade, you won't know if you can untill you have the stock file to look at.

    If you don't have that option that is still fine, you can tune the VVE up to 2-3 bar anyway. The same basics would still apply, change the linear and offset settings for the MAP, change the axis on the VVE table and tune from there. Of course a ton of other stuff would be adjusting like o2 sensors, MAF, injectors etc etc etc.

    It's best to tune it stock and learn everything before you jump into a turbo, some people bit off way more than they can chew sometimes.

    It shouldn't ask you to license both the stock and tuned fie, unless it some crazy custom os, which i highly doubt

    EVEN IF IT DID, YOU COULD JUST DO A COMPARE, AND EDIT THE CHANGES BACK IN

    Yep

    And one thing a lot of people don't realize at first is you don't get asked to license a particular tune until AFTER it's already been read and saved, so you can take a peek at other tunes without having to spend any credits

    Now, that is all assuming that Diablo doesn't lock anything. I have no idea if they do or don't.

    So either way he's going to have to spend 2 credits to install a stock tune or tweak the diablo tune, correct ?
    Or is it easier to tweak the diablo tune with a wide band ?
    Where would he find a stock tune to re install?

    The stock tune should still be on the diablo, when you unmarry the handheld it restores the stock tune. Now having said that sometimes it leaves little pieces behind, but you can download a stock tune from the repository and do a compare and verify it is still stock

    This costs you zero credits
    you can read and save all the tunes from the handheld, including the stock, without spending any credits. When your ready to make changes then it will only cost you 2 credits to license the pcm. Then you can switch between any of the saved files, and modify them as you choose. Costs you nothing more to switch between them

    Correct, and something most people don't realize.. you can read and save any tune without using credits. You have to license it before you can save changes and before you can write it.

    How hard is it to copy a tune so you only use two credits?
    Let's say I have a stock tune, I license it and find a tune I'd like to try out.
    Sounds dumb but I thought I read some peeps do this or have done this.

    You could choose to copy over all differences or just pick and choose what you wish to copy over. It's not very hard at all, you just better make sure they are from very similar computers with matching tables.

    I'd also caution using a random tune to try, it's very possible that the tune file you find is from someone that may not even know what they are doing. Not every vehicle acts the same either so not all tune files work for everything and anything airflow related in normally always vehicle specific because no two motors will call for the exact same airflow amounts at the same time.
