Disable Vats on a 2002 impala?

Can i use this to disable the anti theft system on my 2002 chevy impala? I want to be sure this will get my car running beore i spend the money, I am totaly new to this. I put a 3800 sc v6 in my 2002 impla and put a pm and bcm in the car from an impala ss but it wont crank or give fuel but if i spra fuel in the throttle body and crank it it fires. Im going to guessthe passlock is not sending a signal to the pcm to allow fuel or crank, can i use this to cut out the vats? and will it start then?

you could use hptuners to disable vats in the pcm but not the bcm

it would start but the security light would never go off



if like you say you have swapped in a matching pair of controllers from another impala the problem lies in the fact that the bcm doesnt recognise the signal from your ignition switch as valid (its still programmed to the previous value from the car they cam out of

the easiest solution is to find somebody that has a tech 2 and have them do a vtd (vehicle theft deterent) relearn
