Need a little guidance on this tune

    The car:

    99 SS Camaro A4
Small cam, not sure of duration (mid 220's maybe)
    Headers
    Stock Injectors
Previous tune was PE raped by a shop
    PE is set to 1.146

This tune is not done yet but my idle airflow tables seem really low. Here is the tune and log. With the Russ K cfg you just paste directly into the airflow table correct? I am working on getting the higher rpm/load cells correct with out getting into PE. Just using filters is the best bet? The car is in OLSD. Can anyone just give check it over and make sure i'm not running in circles.

    Thanks

PS Ill just leave this thread until I can actually load the Logs/Tunes. HPT is not working for me. Anyone want to look at it, I could email it to you.

Lot of threads floating around related to that right now. Normally if the IAC effective area table is not calibrated properly, it will result in low or high idle airflow values (normally I see them show more high at the ECT at cold start then drift low).

I would be willing to be you need bigger injectors too.

I know it needs injectors. IDC is at 92% but this is for a friend and he is going to sell asap. When I found the RAF numbers they were almost 0 and the IAC count was zero at operating temp.

You have to fix that before you can do the idle airflow. That is why we need the logs to give you good info lol

Get the IAC up at idle to around 50 steps. Sounds like a hole is drilled to big or (hopefully) the blade is cracked open too far.

Here is a screen shot right before the end of the log. Not sure if it will help. Is there anything else I need to log? Could I email you my files and see if you could upload them?

OK its just something goofey with the laptop

Decided to take the intake hose off. Nice 3/16 hole the throttle body. I may just put it back into CL, tune the maf curve, and down the road it goes.

You have to get your IAC counts up before going any further.

And that is done by? Filling the hole? New throttle body? Or can that be done in the tune? This is my first cammed car that I have done. Bolt on's are no problem. I was hoping the first one I could do was mine, but this one needed it.

Reading all the posts help haha

It is a manual change. Fill and redrill the hole or close up the TB blade if you can.

"It doesn't matter how the tune is, the hole is too big. If the idle hangs and the IACs are at zero, it is pretty strait forward."

    "JB Weld . . . rivet . . ."

I'm going to go with that. The car has those same issues too.

No, that has nothing to do with it. You have to CLOSE the TB blade if there is room to do so (if it was opened up) or fill the hole in. What size is the hole? This has nothing to do with TPS, too much air is coming in the motor through either the TB hole or around the TB.

We ended up riveting the hole up and now it idles....well like a cammed car that has not been tuned yet. LOL Didn't get a chance to put a scanner on it, going for re-tune friday.

Injectors have nothing to do with what it needs. A hole in the TB does nothing at WOT. I would check the WB and make sure everything is good with it. Something doesn't look right. I don't have time to look into it right now, but that is way richer than it should be IMO. Your injectors are maxed out. If you are sure the WB is correct, then pull some fuel. That will get the DC down some, but it needs injectors.

Fixed it! Guy forgot to plug in the IAT sensor, overlooked it on the scanner. I have learned alot from the experience.
