Just bought a used serial interface - was it the right move?

Hey guys, I just bought a used serial interface (the guy didn't say it was serial... which sucks). It is unlocked for all 2000 C5's. I see the upgrade path to the USB version is no longer available - am I going to regret buying this older version?

    Thanks!

Unless you got it EXTREMELY cheap I vote yes you will regret it, the new hardware just has so many advantages not to mention warranty, additional licenses over what you have now, additional vehicle support, repair support, etc. For the interum it'll work fine but if you decide to tune additional vehicles your kinda stuck.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Is the serial interface basically "locked" so that I can't buy new vehicle support/SD support? Or is it more expensive than the new interface?

Correct, we no longer support those interfaces, no new licenses, etc. can be purchased on them.

    Thanks for the info.

Will the interface still be usable to tune OL/SD? Or will it just be harder to do without the "SD enhanced" abilities if I were to get that upgrade?

Yeah it'll be a good bit harder.
